s14 1998 S14 Kouki RPM's not working??

Anyone have an idea of why my RPMS wont work?

Everyother gauge/ light in the car works 110% but the RPM's just chill at 0 like they are getting no signal at all!

Is my cluster shot? never heard of rpms just failing and nothing else.

New the S14's (ive owned 8 S13's) just need info on what to check on the KA or ecu that could be hindering the RPM's from getting signal?!?!?!

Mine hasn't worked and I finally got around to checking the ecu. The tach pin has a break between where it leaves the ecu and the ecu itself. Worth a shot I guess

how did you fix the pin?

more info on that would be great. will dig into my car tomorrow at the crack of noon!

I really want everything on this car 100% operational.

It too damn sexy for something as simple as RPMS not to work lol.

and coming from SR20 S13's to KA S14 shits diff.

Lol I haven't fixed it yet. I found out yesterday when I put an auto ecu into my car and it just worked so I popped it open.

My tach was broken in my black kouki cluster so I just did a little surgery and swapped it for a known good one. Works great now! Finding a cluster was the hard part for sure.

So your saying switching to an auto ecu and it started operating normal for you?

My tach has never worked, it jumps all over the place, from 0 to 7k just sitting at idle...

There was a thread on this a while back.... too lazy to link it at the moment but IIRC people were having issues with the solder/wires coming loose on the tach. If this is the case just hit it with a solder gun and you'll be set.

Glad it worked out. I didn't think it would work when I did it either but Sileighty knows what he's talking about.
