I suspect the maf of going bad, so i tried disconnecting the maf and tried started the car, but it wont start. I thought the car will still start with the maf disconnected but in limp mode. I had this issue on my 2jz jdm motor , over time the connections rusted and corroded, so i took it off fixed that up with some new wire and also used a brake cleaner to clean the maf sensor itself, put it back on worked like a charm, but yes the car win't start with out the maf at all.
hope this helps

repin the maf its super easy, use a paper clip and remove each wire from maf connector then find some spare connectors from your harness and depin/repin them into your maf connector
