I think my fuel pump is bad

My car has a hard time starting somtimes and when I am starting off from a stop, it stumbles. I am thinking that it is my fuel pump. What do you guys think? If it is my fuel pump, I thought about just upgrading to a Walbro. But I think I will run rich. Will I on the stock FPR?

How are your plugs doing? Do they look corroded or anything?

The fuel pump supplies constant pressure, so it's not something engine dependent. I think if your fuel pump is going you would have strange problems at all times. If you're sure it's a fuel issue, the fuel filter and the injectors are always good to check. I'd pull the injectors and check the spray pattern.

changed the injectors and put in a new fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, dist. cap, dist. rotor, air filter, TPS sensor, and O2 sensor. I get my PCV out and clean it. But I don't know how to get to it easily.

Walbro (255s anyways) will indeed make you run rich. My SR did the exact thing you're explaining until I got my fuel pressure adjusted correctly (via my tomei FPR).

It depends on the pump. I'm only running a S15 fuel pump and I still ran extremely rich until I had my FPR adjusted. I'd have to call shinannigans on your statement man. SRs WILL RUN w/o adjustment, but it'll be far from optimal, and depending on the climate you live in, may run anywhere from basically acceptable to crappy.

I think you are right on the regulator, because when I fill my car up totally (which I rarely do) it drives so much better. So do I need more pressure to make it run smoother?

how about you do some inspecting first, like pull off the fuel feed line and see if fuel is coming out of it. Mine went out last year, and the car would stumble and have a really hard time starting. Everyone was telling me the same things everyone here is saying. But unless you run through a proper inspection, you'll be wasting time and money.

I haven't seen any fuel anywhere. I looked for cracks in my fuel line but I couldn't find any. I tried looking at my line that goes to my regulator, but its too hard to see.

This is what a fuel pressure gauge is for
req to tune your FPR anyhow

As the RPM's go up, you need more pressure right? Cause around 2k-4k rpms it acts really sluggish, then at 4.5k it acts like it has all this power and will drive smoothly all the way to over 6k. But, below 4k, it acts like it has no torque almost.

i never thought i'd hear that problem again... i had that problem with my s13... the plugs need to be replaced, and that's what caused my issues.
