well that looks weird ...i had to give that a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th look to believe that its real. looks like a clean swap.

does this mean he can say that he has a turboed 350z?

i wonder why he did the swap in the first place...

Same here. Why the hell did he put in a SR instead of turbocharging the 350?

Same reason why a dog licks itself. Because it can. Installing a SR in the Z33 chassis would allow more room in the front since the engine is smaller for a V-shaped IC and radiator.

I saw that car in person at D1 last month, it was pretty wild. Lots of custom modifications went into this car, I wonder how it performs..

I think its bad ass!!! Much props out to that guy!! And to answer your questions on why.............. Some people have a lot of money and like a challenge and want to be different, may not be your taste but i bet that guy sits in his garage and stares at it all night long, i know i would. To each his own!!

Its a Signal car which is used by their new driver Chris. My best guess why they would do this is better weight dist or something to do with weight overall. I have read it pushes out 400hp but this number could be wrong.

I am predy sure its Chris's personal car, who is sponsored by Signal (also Tanabe and BFG). The car Chris "drives" for Signal is the old DrifterX (which more or less look exactly like the "drift twins" cars)

That's Chris' personal car. His supercharged v6 z motor blew up so why not put an SR in it? He's the same guy who had a SR in a FD........ or FC i can't remember. But no, that's not signal's car, its his.

That's pretty crazy, but what's crazier is that he had over 7,000 miles on his old FLT-A2's with 20/18 springrates!

For a nissan board some of you sure are behind on what's going on

Anyhow yeah it sucks for chris, he didn't even really get a fighting chance to compete at D1. He's a really good driver though, as many have seen him tearing it up at drift days using komatsu's signal car. That 350Z is his personal car, and if you were lucky enough to attend the last drift showoff, you saw him battle it out with some of cali's best.

Yeah he used to drift up here at DGtrials. SR's probably a better engine than the VQ anyway.

Wow thats awesome. That has got to be one of the hottest 350z's ive ever seen. And the kit looks like the vertex one on their site, but sooo much better than their white one. Theres a couple clips of that car drifting around in this vid here.

i know chris
he went SR because
a) chaep
b) easy to work
c) easy for powre
d) weight distribution
e) its fuckin nice

his supercharged (vortech?) engine blew and i cant go into details online but he went SR
lots of work, TONS of fabrication and viola

chris is fucking badass. he drives komatsus old 180sx (used to be the sparkly blue one) but its a POS car. anyways....its rad

chris is super good. first california drift event (drift showoff) he did, he made it to top 8. so did our friend, Ben, from Florida!

the reason why he put in a SR is that he could get parts easier and cheaper compared to the 350z parts

If I remember correctly the JGTC Supra if had the 4 cylinder motor in them (500hp?) Less weight to toss around, and better weight distribution. The car looks clean, as long as it's fast I like it.

Also, IIRC, Top Secret had a Supra with a SR20DET in it which they used for top speed runs.
