My little project...

So I already have two guages on the pillar, and I need two more mounted somewhere. I didn't want to do the dash drilling: 1) ricey IMO, 2) if you want to take them back out, sell car, etc., its a biatch to install a new dash. I also found that you can put some in the DIN panel, but I already have my turbo timer there, and I use that space...

So after some thinking, and a little experimenting, I came up with this idea. Can you guess what it is??

This is the first stage, epoxy-ing the open/close thing over, and a rough cardboard/fiberglass backing. Then I'll fill it in with more fiberglass and resin, then sand it all down pretty. I think it will kick ass when I'm done.

yeah it's the vent on the door. Nismo i believe makes a unit that holds a guage right there. unfortunatly it is for RHD applications.

Psh, I own Nismo. Mine will hold two!! Heh. Besides, I'm sure the NISMO one costs at least $200 (not kidding...).

i bet it would be closer to about 400, but anyway i like your idea, but nismo still owns you, i think it was a 3 in one gauge or 2 in one, plus it had nismo written on it, that will allow you to boost 5 more psi alone....hahaha
keep some progress up, i wanna see how it turns out

Can't Wait to see how it looks.... I went with something I myself have never seen pictures of by mounting two gauges in place of the ashtray. I used a piece of aluminum to make the panel. I still need to notch the console piece so that the guage sits right.

Cool. That's exactly what I was going to do, but then I randomly came up with this idea. No pictures, but I just finished filling it completely in, it's almost ready to be drilled.

Well, talk about grave digging! I deleted the old pics so you can't see how it started off, but I'm almost done. It took me forever, yes... so long in fact that I now have an S13 LOL! I'm thinking about selling it but I doubt I will. I'd have to get so much for it that it would be ridiculous... I don't want to let it go because I like it so much. I'm sure I'll have another S14 to use it on some day anyways hehe.

Here are some pics of it... I test mounted it in the car and the angle with the guages is actually almost perfect, I was afraid it wouldn't be very good. I have to dremel out the holes a tad more then I'll slap in some guages and mount it in my friends car, and take some pics for you guys.
