How to spot difference between R33 GTS-T and R34 GTT calipers?

The seller that sold me my S13 said it was fitted with Skyline calipers (...), he didn't know anything more.

So how do i spot the difference between R33 GTS-T and R34 GTT calipers? They look the same to me. The car was fitted with 295x30mm disc tho, the R34 GTT has 310 i believe. Can i run 310mm on the R33 caliper?

This link might help. But I would honestly use these as a CORE and get Z32 calipers at any parts store (easier to find hardware and pads along with rotors).

Thanks, but in Norway the Skyline brake swap is more popular than the 300ZX, because the Skyline is a more popular car (even tho you cant get it road registered.)

That's the stupidest shit I've ever heard considering R33 brakes are worth considerably more than standard issue Z32 brakes.

Yeah it might not be as easy to get R33 brake parts at the local Napa, but it's not impossible to get pads or rotors for them. Numerous places online sell pads and rotors, and will ship it right to your door.

How about you & the other guy go be dumb somewhere else.

R33/34 calipers use the EXACT same pads & supporting hardware as R32/Z32, & R32 GT-R (non-V-Spec); so I'd say aside from the calipers & rotors themselves, stuff is pretty easy to find. Also, considering OP is in NORWAY, there are very likely to be differences in what's readily available there than here.

-----------------------------------------------

MeSs- Rotors compatible with R33 calipers are easy to get- R32 GT-R rotors work perfectly- that's what I use.

HOWEVER, R34 calipers have taller mounting points than R33 (hence, the larger rotor)... Here is a pic of the clearances between the R33 caliper & 296mm x 32mm rotor:

^^Pretty sure a 310mm rotor would not clear that.

HOWEVER, you are in luck- because judging by this pic of my R33 calipers (note the shorter mouting points):

I'd say your calipers are R34, so 310mm rotors should work just fine.

Here is a link that may help you: Nissan Skyline brake disc and caliper information

Mike, where'd you get R32 GTR rotors from? Also, how the heck do you fit it since its 2mm wider than the stock R33 GTS-T rotors (296x30 vs 296x32).

I might be looking for a pair of rotors soon for my R33 brakes.

Got the rotors from our boy Skrappy back in the day- been sitting on 'em ever since

They fit just fine Ray... The 2mm difference is completely negligible (about 1/25" wider per side- hair over 1/16" total). So negligible in fact that I am shocked that Nissan didn't just continue use the exact same rotors when they started producing the GTS25t's and whatever else they used that particular caliper/rotor on.

Here is my next set when these wear out: EBC Ultimax Sport Slotted Front Brake Rotors R32 Skyline GTR

You should buy them and tell me how they perform
