What are it's specs? WHAT IS A AE86...I know it's the car used by the main character in the Initial D series, I know what it looks like, other then that...:(  What is the USDM name for them? Are they fw drive or rear wheel?  How much are they?  Is there lots of aftermarket potential with them? What is a Trueno?

I am completely clueless on this subject. &nbsp;Just need some general info on em. &nbsp; They have got me interested <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

I don't know much about them except that they were sold in the states as the rwd Corolla GT-S up until the late eighties when they were switched to the fwd AE92. &nbsp; They are supposed to be really good race/drift cars and easy/cheap to modify. &nbsp;Do a search on the 'net...I'm sure there's a wealth of info out there on them. &nbsp; If you want one, keep an eye out on autotrader.com....you can get them for under $2K...they're just harder to find than the average car.

The AE86 chassis was available in North America from 1984 to 1987. There were two models available - the SR5 and GT-S. The SR5 sucks, it is carbed and has only 70-some horsepower. The GT-S on the other hand is very nice, it has the 4AGE engine. 1.6-liter DOHC 16-valve, 112 hp, 7500 RPM redline. Doesn't sound like a lot of power but keep in mind they are at least 400 pounds lighter than an S13. Both were available in coupe or hatchback (I have a coupe). The GT-S was also available with a limited slip rear end. Very nimble little car that is extremely fun to drive.

Trueno AND Levins come in hatchback AND coupe
the only difference is that Levins have fixed lights, not flip lights.

As for the car, it's the 1985-1987 Toyota Corolla GTS
USDM Corolla GTS's are more likely to come w/ LSD than the CDN versions. LSD is rare on these cars!!
They are lighter and they high revving 4AGEs are monsters when they are tuned properly.

4AGEs come in several models as well:
Black, red, silver/gray... each has different qualities. i dun remember much about them.
the only other 4AGE that interests me is the 20Valve version. this beast is crazy.
there is a touring model of the 4AGE, i believe it costs $40k for it. ^.^

--- and i dunno why anyone would want this car for a winter car! it's incredibly light + RWD, unless you're a good driver, expect to be fishtailing and spinning out!

anymore info you want on it, go to Club4AGE, the only dudes in the USA that know a helluvalot on this car!
