Nitto Neo Gen

I'm considering buying a set of Nitto NT Neo Gen tires for my new wheels (FN01R-C's). I talked to the guy at a local tuner shop and that's what he recomended for daily driving since it wears well or somehing. Anyone have any experience with this tire?

Toyo Ra-1's have good tire wear. buy them. I wouldnt buy any tire from nitto..just buy general tires or some nankang's or something cheaper.

Just curious, but what's your beef with Nitto? Anyways, I was also considering Falken Azenis ST115's. And I have searched about the Azenis, but havn't heard anything specific on the ST115. Any thoughs?

All my friends who have tried nittos dont ever buy them again. I can learn from their mistakes. Even my friends with domestics arent happy with the 555 extreme drag radials.

If you didnt know i was kidding about the Ra-1's. ALthough they are a great tire the tire wear rating is 80. depending on your rim size, the mileage will vary. If you are running 17's get some super stickies cause they will last longer(less rim rotation+more meat on tire for same distance traveled=less wear)


Azenis is an excellent summer tire. If you want some high mileage decent not-so-sticky not-too-stiff sidewall semi-decent performer but not even close to soft compound tire, get the Kumho Ecsta 712.

Thanks alot. I only need the tires for the summer. From what I've read about the Azenis seems like I can't go wrong. I think I just decided which tire to get.

711 is the best tire for the price IMO, everyone who has bought those that ive talked to loved them, im putting some 225/50/15s on my 8.5 wide for grip tires

for a good all around cheap tire, go ES100 by Yokohama.

I've got the new Bridgestone Fuzions and they grip very good both wet and dry. Pretty reasonable price too.

-I drive around town, getting myself from point a to point b.
-I drive quite a bit.
-I want the drive to be solid, all around good performance, wet and dry. And I don't auotcross cuz there isn't any place to around here and would like to drift a little more than the occasional ass out slide around a turn.
-I'm looking to spend $400ish.
-The wheels are 17x7 and 17x8

Azenis doesnt have a great size selection. You may be better off with the ES100's but they wear a lot faster. The Kumho's last like twice as long from my experience.

And for all the guys that put down the 712 after i suggested it, you blindly posted without reading my post. I didnt say it was a good grip tire..i said not so sticky, soft sidewall, and only semi-decent. Dont be so quick to make your stupid comments. Everyone knows the 712 isnt anything compared to a victoracer, or a Azenis, or T1-S..give it a rest. IMO it's a decent tire for what this guy will use them for. If you want something like the Azenis, obviously you dont consider the 712. You consider tires like the V700, RA-1, the Ecsta MX..etc. High grip ,fast wear, and dont count on drifting with them.

sounds like any performance tire by kumho, yokohama, and dunlop that is in the 80-100 dollar per tire price range will be sufficient for you. i tend to be more picky and would run 120 dollar tires (re730/re750 bridgestones), thats my personal perference.. but going with a slightly less expensive tire wont be a bad decision for you.

basically, the more expensive tires will definately give you more grip and will maintain their stickiness and last longer (rather than dry out like most do). the s03s i have grip like hell but they are about 180/each, so focus on something more intermediate.

plus, more expensive grip tires will eliminate ANY ability to drift.. trust me, its SO hard to slide grippy tires. So I think ES100s should be fine.

I still disagree. I think they are poorly made (I can;t tell you how many I've had to rebalance because they get out of round quickly), i've seen many of them just turn to shit and not last more than 20K miles. I've had a friend pull consisten 2.0' 60s then, about 2 weeks later, pulled numerous 2.3+ runs. They turned to shit on him. You're right, if you need a cheap tire to just get you on the road because that new set of wheels are the only ones you have for your daily driver, Ecstas will work fine. If you are looking for any kind of performance for any kind of time, look elsewhere.

I also agree with you about nittos. They're dry performance is alright, and they absolutely suck ass in water.

Seriously i run them in the front of my car and if i really wanted to i could go really fast on them. They have soft sidewalls and they start making a lotta noise but you can still keep turning in. They arent great..but i have had no balancing issues with them..only with Azenis. I've tried Azenis, Es100's, and ecsta 712's in that order. I still think they are somewhat decent.

712s are crap. I gotta agree with Bliss. I'm in the tire game too and balancing wasn't the only problem. I've seen the bead on 712's split numerous times and this happened to me personally with freeway miles only. They're decent summer tires, but for the price, I would go with something else.

Morpheus8486, if you were looking at the Nitto Neo Gens, you should look at the Toyo Proxes 4. They're about in the same category of "tuner" type tires. Proxes 4 are also designed for the "tuner" market to maximize tread life for the people will be running some camber. I was searching, but it seems as if the Neo Gens are a regular rubber compound. Proxes 4 use Toyo T1-S "technology" and they run the silica rubber compound that allows for better grip for all season.

By the way, Nitto and Toyo are part of the same family. Not sure if they're subsidiaries of each other or what.

711 and 712 are great for slip so dont shit on everyone parade. as far as grip they wont compare to 220a temp tires like like the same damn MX. or azenis sport. BUT SO WONT THE PRICE DIFFERENCE

want some grip for less $$? get a pair of wheels for some victoraces or even kumho MX. stock se wheels will do fine. just get used to jacking up the car and changing wheels to save $$$. you gotta be a homo to roll on the street with victoraces. waste of fuckin dough.

I was going to get some bridgesstone re750's but decided to go with es100's because they were cheaper and the reveiws I read were quite good. my next set of tires will definately be bridgestones though.
