PureTurbos

Ok this is my review(s) of my experience with vendor PureTurbos. I will be conducting this review in steps. After seeing their post on the forums and their rebuild services they offered. I decided to take the plunge. The first thing I noticed was their staff was highly knowledgeable as well as very professional. I think I talked with their tech for over an hour comparing setups and ideas in regards to my motor build Even when I asked tons of questions and voiced concerns the individual with whom I spoke to (I forgot name) was patient with me. So my motor, a cammed (tomei pon) rb26dett in my R32 GTR is the donor for this endeavor. From working at a shop prior I had a set of blown but decent turbos chilling on my parts bin and decided to use them. Now most people are against twin’s turbos setups or prefer the tried and true gt28rs twin setup but I was feeling adventurous and although I am not cheap seeing a high quality alternative was appealing. After discussing my options with Pure I decided on their t28 rebuild with steel exhaust wheel and billet compressor wheel. They do all the machining in house to accommodate the larger compressor wheel, and also do in house balancing. Prior to this I thought of getting the N1 wheel kits commonly used but without balancing I was not going to take that chance. So I shipped these turbos in two garbage bags and a box that was probably 5 lbs beyond its capacity and a little bit of oil stains on the sides. They did their inspection of the units I sent in and told me they would work perfectly. I told them I wanted to go big or to go home and they stuffed their largest wheel in the compressor which after we talked was larger than 47mm. About a week later I was emailed pics of my new shiny turbos and told they would be arriving shortly. Roughly 5 days later (it was a wknd) they arrived to my job. The first thing I noticed was the packaging…. Unlike the subpar packaging I sent the turbos out in, they came back to me in a proper sized box, and individually wrapped and sealed to stop anything from getting inside them. I am already impressed. Right inside with the packing list I see the two balancing sheets for each of the turbos. Although I rly didn’t understand it, it was my bragging rights!! So far I was only able to peek inside the box, but I can see the shiny wheels, as well as the clean and painted housings another improvement over the distinct orange exhausting I sent in. Tonight I will be mounting these up to my stock, but ported and ceramic coat manifolds, with tomei dumps and installing them. I should have them up and running by Wednesday. I will be posting pics as well as continuation of my review than!!
