Shaking when start-up, any thoughts?

Okay, this just started this week....
On Monday, and this morning, when i started up the car, rpm's went to about 1300 (which is normal for my car when cold) at the same time it started shaking like it was having a seizure..I turned the car off, back on, and it shook for about 10 seconds, then idled fine....I got out of the car, and smelled gas in the air....??

I moved into a house with a garage, and down here, it gets about 120 degrees in there, i dont think this has anything to do with it though, but it just started, and i just moved into this place...(i had this crazy idea maybe the gas evaporates in the fuel lines???)

PLEASE HELP !!!!
thanks Eric

I replaced my old plugs/wires with NGK's about 4 months ago, and they seem fine...

Why not just check for codes yourself?

you don't 'need' a reader to check the codes, you can use the light on the ecu or the check engine light....but this is all found within the search tool!

one thing to check is your gound, even make a secondary ground to the wheel bay if need be.... DJ sunrise swears by grounds..lol

also check the wires that run along the injectors....then the idle is wonky move the harness around and see if it gets worse or better.

check the MAF sensor, clean the AIV....all these things have been exhaustedly talked about...i know cuz i was yelled at by others about it...lol

also check the resistance of the injectors..should be 11ish

open up your hood and let someone else start the car while you look. what kind of shaking is it? does the engine flop left and right like a dying fish when you start the car? or is it a general shaking all over? if its flopping then you have bad engine mounts (maybe one broke suddenly? - weird). otherwise go check ECU codes.

Yea, i plan on doing that........both times it happened, my roommate already left, and i was leaving for work in the morning...so no time to look...

i'm not sure it its left to right, the WHOLE car is shaking....like f-in gremlins are under the hood tearing apart a deer/small mammal...i watched the tach, and it didnt move, bounce or anything...

that does seem weird. for what its worth when my car still had the original mounts it didn't always shake. it depended mostly on how cold of a start it was. if i had driven the car previous it would start up smoothly. if i was starting it up the first time for the day it would shake like a bitch (scary lol...)
