seatbelt auto to manual

i know someone has a site or a link to how to do it and i cant find it to save my life so can someone help me out thanx

i just took out my s14 manual seatbelt two days ago. the shoulder part of the belt is held on by 2 14mm bolts and a screw (dunno what size), one on the bottom of the b-pillar behind the plastic side coverings and and one on top. The side belt part (top of the belt assembly) is attached to the existing sidebelt hole and the buckle is attached to your seat.

not exactly discriptive, but eh.

i'd like to know this too, i cant stand those stupid automatic piles...my passenger's side one seems like its about to give in and not work anymore and i hate waiting for it to come forward so that i can get outa the car on the drivers side and i dont trust the lap belt only method.

I believe the bolt head is 14mm, but the threads aren't metric and dont correspond to a 14mm bolt. They are SAE fine thread......I believe 7/16 fine thread. I put S14 belts in my S13 and had bought some longer 14mm bolts.....and the threaded part of the bolt was too thick. I took the original bolt to the hardware store and they helped me find out what it was. To run S14 belts you need a longer than stock bolt, then you can add washers and spacers behind the plastic panel and space it out correctly. I had to drill a hole in the plastic to put the bolt thru. Looks ok...works well. You'll also need to cut a slit for the belt to retract into the bottom of the panel. I can try to post pics of my setup if you want.

is it seriously that hard to swap seatbelts, step one, get manual seatbelts, either from canadian s13, or usdm s14, step 2, remove interior pieces, step 3, remove all auto seatbelt crap, including the controller underneith the center console, step 4, bolt in manual seatbelts, voila your done, its an hour job max,

because it's sooo simple that any person can do with basic tools.
it's on a difficulty level of installing strut bar, replacing headlights, changing oil, rotating tires, etc etc :ghey:
