hey everyone, i just installed my sr20 but i was wondering if i needed to have an aftermarket exhaust. i have a 91 hatch. will my stock exhaust be fine for now?

hey sir, with you and all your 220 posts your not such a mighty old timer here yourself.
you can use your stock exhaust but it will kill your power. the ss autochrome has an exhaust for damn cheap. look it up on ebay.

heh. Stock 180sx/Silvias are sold with STOCK exhaust, same as we have here.
SRs are not specially bred racing engines that 'require' a large diameter exhaust. They just respond well to a larger exhaust system.

oh yeah, and search.

ok I will help you...you can run the stock exhaust but you will have major turbo lag if your running higher boost. It works fine if you run stock boost but your car will feel dog slow. You don't need an aftermarket 3" exhaust but it will help make it run a hell of a lot faster.

why the hell would a car NEED a 3" exhaust anyhow? i mean, i could see how it'd help but the stocker isn't THAT restrictive. i think that180guy meant that it was a pretty obvious solution.

i had stock exhaust on my sr for a few months it sucks sooo much its like a 20whp increase with an aftermarket exhaust... dude just run downpipe back it will sound and smell like shit but then u dont have to worry about 100lbs of 1 inch diamater shitty exhaust!!!!

oh ya and i think a new forum for arguments should be opened because thats what most of you people do here (an observation)
