SR weird noise when underthrottle?

i have a redtop in a 89 fast back when i accelerate or give it gas i don't have to be moving, i have a weird noise it sounds like my car is a airplane getting ready for take off i still have the stock fan off of the water pump on it could it be the fan bearing going out of that. i know alot of people take that fan off when they do the swap but i left it on should i just take it off and see if it goes away i have put about 25k on my swap and it just now started to make this noise it really sounds like a airplane or like a really loud fan i am almost sure it is something to do with that just needs some input thanx.

The fan clutch could be seized up causing the fan to spin at the exact same rpm as your motor and that would cause the loud "wooosh" sound whenever you rev up. This happened on my old 94' 300zx, it was very annoying because it seemed like you could hear more of the air sound than the motor sound.

Just use this "problem" as an excuse to install electric fans

Send a message via AIM to sleep
take off the couple of bolts to remove the fan from the clutch, then remove the clutch from the pulley. 5 minute job

does it sound when you are hitting boost? because if its the sound im thinking of then we got a problem...i have my stock fan still installed and no problems with it...

if its the sound im thinking then your probably starting to develop a gap in between your turbo and your manifold due to the bolts getting loose..

then you have the time and your car is not hot, take off the heatshield to the mani using 10mm socket and reach down to the flanges where the turbo meets the manifold, and feel to see if all 4 nuts are there... if not then thats your sound..

i had a post a while ago describing my situation maybe it'll help you out...GL..

ya and if it was anything like that i wouldn't be able to build boost and i am building boost with no problems my turbo seems to be working fine no smoke or anything so that is what the problem has to be or the only thing that i can think of...
