you DO understand that your headlights NEED that reflective backing in the housing to work properly right? You arent gonna be able to see jack shit even if you didnt bake the lenses into a hazy mess

its 10x safer to do this on projector headlights than halogen. simply because the projector doesn't rely on the reflective surface around the bulb such as halogen.

yeah black housings are stupid, don't do 'em.
It helps to say which car you have when you ask for help, too.

brokenben> wheres old_s13?

im not at your service, but im listening if thats what you're asking....

johnny5> its 10x safer to do this on projector headlights than halogen. simply because the projector doesn't rely on the reflective surface around the bulb such as halogen.

projector headlamps use halogen bulbs, the same bulbs that reflector headlamps use. difference is in design, but both require reflective coatings to project the light from the bulb... DUDE.

painting a housing (ie: BEZEL) is okay.. as long as its done right.

in this case, no one knows if it was done right.. and personally, i dont really care.. because its not my car. you gotta know what yer doing when you work on lights, its not a matter of open up and spray.

lights utilize reflective materials to aid them in providing sufficient output. i hope your car is black if you're gonna be goin through all this hassle....

From lookin at the pic, it looks like he only painted the housing (bezel, whatever you wanna call it). That wouldn't hurt lighting at all. It would only hurt if you painted the part that reflects and focuses the light pattern. What he did, (again by lookin at the pic) would be the same as buying JDM black housing Integra headlights for your RSX that came with crome housings. It won't hurt lighting.
