3 top transmission bolts (AT)

how did you take those out? i'm having a hard time taking it out for my 5 speed swap. i have a little honda jack between the tranny and the tranny well and it's pushing the tranny down good. i also have a jack on the engine itself so that when the bolts give way, the engine wont fly off. but how far do u go to take out the bolts? i'm jacking it to the point where the engine starts hitting the firewall and i'm still jacking, and i'm afraid that the engine mounts will get messed up because there's a lot of pressure on one side of the engine. any advice would help thanks

I had to lower the tranny to the point that the engine was hitting the firewall. Then I got underneath the car (jack up high enough) and used i think four 6" extentions (with rachet and socket) to get the very top bolt. Then I used a breaker bar or a pipe on a flex head wrench for the others.

I had to drop the engine down a little but unbolting the 4 crossmember nuts from the body/frame of the car.(use a jack to support the bottom of the crossmember) There's 2 on each side, i had to do this to get the trans to clear the body to remove it, but it also helped tremendously to get at those top bolts.

i got mine off with the usual extensions and a breaker bar

what i did was just get someone to hold the extension/socket onto the bolt and went from the back of the tranny with the breaker bar

I went in from the top. I think i had to manipulate the transmission with a standard autozone floorjack,
