My240SX
My 240SX
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey, I am being extremely social considering how long I've been on here; and I come on here about 2 times a day. (back to back posts ). Anyhow, I thought I would see what you guys thought about my setup. 1995 Black Nissan 240SX What I have so far: - Apex'i GT Spec Exhaust system - Tein HE Coilovers - Tein Tie Rod and Ends - SPL Tension Rods - SPL Subframe Spacers What's on Order(can be adjusted): I ordered a s14 sr20-det from www.240sxmotoring.com/ www.cipmotorsports.com and decided to get the parts needed with the engine just to get it installed and running safely. So, aside from the engine this is what I have on order as of now: -Greddy V-Spec Intercooler $699.99 -Greddy Downpipe MX $135.00 -Greddy Hotpipe $99.00 -Walbro 255 Fuel Pump $99.00 -Spec Stage 3 Clutch $339.00 -HKS Super Sequential BOV $199.99 -Nismo Motor and Tranny mount kit $209.99 Other things considering: -B&M Short Shifter -Shift knob (I'm without ) -Koyo Radiator -Flex-a-lite Dual Fan So, what do you think? The parts with listed prices are things necessary for the swap and getting it running. I know there are other things I could get like gauges, but I need maybe a month or 2 to recover from this massive buy, so only the essentials. Also if you think some of the prices can be seriously beaten, please let me know. Well there it is, hopefully, I didn't do too bad. |

I'm in the same boat as you...but I will be ordering after income tax check. I have done a little research that can add to what you have listed already. That intercooler you can find a little cheaper I think. I know I seen them on ebay for $600...I think I seen it elsewhere for $600 too. The downpipe you should be able to get a little cheaper as well...just do a search on google. As for the gauges, I would get them first....fuel pump can be but on later until you crank up the boost. I also keep hearing things about the rocker arm stoppers, stops them from flying off at high RPM (a known weakness in SR). Lastly you might want to replace "wear & tear" parts on the SR...like water pump, etc. That's all I can think of right now.

Thanks for the input so far. Yes, I suspect there will be alot of things needing replacing on the engine. I've already taken that into consideration. I guess I'm a little paranoid of using ebay; I just want to use a respected company.
Yes, I have also thought about saving a little money and going with the house dp and what not. Cipmotorsports also has one. However, I am a little interested in the gauges. Can I make it a few months without gauges, or is necessary? |

i would say oil pressure, boost, fuel pressure should be installed
you can get inexpensive versions of all of these gauges even if it is just temporary but i wouldnt fire the engine until these three gauges are installed it also makes it a lot easier to trouble shoot problems if you can monitor the aspects of the engine that can cause issues (low oil pressure, high fuel pressure ect) i would also recommend an adjustable FPR but i dont think it is absolutely required
