The rear of my car whines a lot louder than before... started hapening last monday. Usually the loudest when i drive on the freeway, and decelerate from it... i think when i slow down to 25-30 miles u cant hear it anymore..

Let me know what you think...

VLSD pumpkin needs the fluid changed???

or...

Rear hub/hubs are wearing out???

I would also say its your rear diff. Do you have a leak? I would guess that its probably pretty close to empty.

Or it can be ur throwout or ploit bearing.

I just got my clutch changed.... got a new throw out brearing... not a pilot, mechanic said mine was still good

thanks for the info guys, ill change my fluid proll over thanksgiving break and see how that helps..

I know a S14 that does that too but its also so an automatic. Hmmm maybe a change of the diff. fluid could fix it.

i am having the same problem with my car. change out the fluid and add some lucas stabilizer in there also. That will help quiet down the differential. most likely the noise is just due to low amounts of fluid. try not to drive it too much or to hard while it is making the noise.

Do you have an exhaust system or subframe spacers? My car started doing that after I put in subframe spacers. I'm guessing its the extra stiff rear and the noise is coming through the chasis more now because it is stiffer. Its kinda like a vibrating sound.

my car had the same problem also but i didn't think about it to much. today i swaped my tranny out caus it finally blew (145,000) miles and had to take drive shaft out so while i was at it i canged out the yolk on the diff and the fluid. it isn't making that noise ne more. so try changing the diff fluid and if that dosn't work u can get a new yolk right from nissan
