s14 JDM Kouki Bumper Bracket

Does anyone know where I can get a JDM Kouki Bumper Bracket for an S14?

The reason I want the JDM one is it does not come with the bulky reinforcement bar like we have here in the US, as well as the large opening already available for Front Mount Intercoolers.

Any help would be appreciated.

How are you sure that it doesn't come with a bumper reinforcement?

The existing bumper bracket will work and I agree that hacking the reinforcement to make the FMIC fit would be ideal.

Bumper bracket and bumper reinforcement are 2 very different parts. One holds the bumper, one is a crash bumper. JDM s14 have no bumper reinforcements. JDM and USDM bumper brackets are identical.

NZO are you sure about the bumper brackets being the same? I have a picture that says differently. If someone could help me host a picture I will show you what I mean.

Yes, the bumper brackets are the same. The bumper supports (bumper reinforcements), however, are very different. I had the usdm one and its very big and bulky compared to my jdm one.

Just trim the usdm energy absorber down. I threw mine out.

There are some pics in that thread so you can get an idea of how much material has to be trimmed off.

Maybe I should state that I currently do not have a bumper reinforcement or a bumper bracket and I am in the market for one. So I figured getting a used JDM one might cost just as much as buying a new one from the dealer, however it will come with the added bonus of not having to cut up the reinforcement bar for a front mount ic.

I have machine shop available so getting tools like a cut-off wheel are not a problem, I just like to do things as clean as possible, I used to build cars for a living.

I do appreciate the feedback from everyone. Thanks

I would be very interested to see a JDM s14 with a bumper reinforcement bar. As far as I know no such thing exists.

The design is completely different. The JDM one is A LOT smaller and lighter. Also because of its size, if you want to run a fmic, you dont have to cut anything. With the usdm one, its very thick and heavy and running a fmic is impossible unless you take a sawzall to it. Sorry about my somewhat vague description. Its kinda hard to explain.

You can get a used US rebar for free. I throw them out usually when I part a car, I'm sure others do as well. In fact, I've got a Kouki model rebar under my house that's waiting to get thrown out, although I'm in Atlanta so the shipping might hurt.

Ask around, you can find one for next to nothing and cutting it requires very little skill. A lot less effort than locating and shipping a JDM one.
