Wierd! My KA keeps overheating from lack of coolant. My radiator is fine, its brand new, no leaks. However, once my car gets hot enough, fluid shoots out the firewall, out a vent tube. Also, somewhere underneath my Intake runners, there is a HUGE leak. what hoses are under the intake manifold that can leak like that? could it be my thermostat isnt opening, and making my car overheat, causing the fluid out of the firewall vent tube?

If its at all prudent, The heat sucks on my car, even when it overheats it takes forever for the air to warm up. plus, my fluid is brown looking. not good.

help!

That isn't a vent tube. That's where a heater hose is supposed to be hooked up and it hooks onto a pipe on the back of your intake mani. How long have you been driving it like this?

I've driven it over 10,000 miles like that.

uh apparantly your thinking about the heater hoses. Im talking about the vent like hose thats on the bottom. its the one pointing down near the bottom of the firewall.

That's your evaporator core drain for your AC system. When the hot moist air hits the cold core it forms water and drains out the tube.

Your heater core is in the same box as the evaporator. When it cracks, it drains out the same hole. Smell a sweet smell out of the air ducts? I bet your heater core in shot.

AGH! would that explain the lack of hot heat, and dirty colored coolant?

yep thats it. i guess my heater core is shot right? damn. And to make matters worse, i have a hose leaking somewhere in that intake manifold area. DAMNIT!

kinda in the middle of runners for 2 and 3. I'm just gonna rip off the intake tommorrow and put all new hoses on. no sense in not doing them all when i have the damn intake off.
