The thread about the current state of the forums was lost, but we all know what it said so I won't stir up more trouble in this post by dwelling on that...
We all agree that something must be done, s13grl has gone to nazi mode and I encourage other mods to follow a similar approach. But the moderators can't bear the sole responsibility of the keeping zilvia.net forums a good and enjoyable place to learn. Having said that, I'd ask that all of us who have been here a while set an example (that HOPEFULLY every member on the forum will follow) by asking yourself if your comment/question/remark/ect... benefits the forum before you add a reply or post a new topic. Also, if it's a question, have you tried to find the answer on your own or do you want us to just do the work for you? One line replys like "Swell" "cool" "neato" "mad tyte bitchin yo" do nothing for the forum. It's not helping anybody or doing anything but raising your post count, and therefore over inflating a newbies trust in you. Also, many of us get into heated debate and sometimes all out internet brawls over something simple or pointless...drifting for example, but there are many others which are far more pointless. I urge you to look at the forum you are posting in before you post. The most frequently abused forum I would say is "Chat" the chat section is for "General Discussion About The Nissan 240SX" now of course since we don't have another place to post, things about general car stuff and Nissan stuff could be posted here. But too often we ignore the subtitle and just see "CHAT" and so we do just that... Also, if you have a question or comment that only applies to one member of the forum (IE: in the middle of a discussion about bore and stroke you ask someone a question about the rims on the car in their sig) please use the personal messenger, e-mail, or some other form of direct communication with that person, rather disrupting the topic with your personal inquires. I'm not trying to lay blame on anybody and honestly I'm guilty of doing every single thing above that I'm asking you not to do. I am going to try my best to "practice what I preach" so to speak in order to keep this forum a place we can all learn from and enjoy. So please, older members, set a good example for the newer folk. Thanks, DSC
