s14 Will 300zx rear hubs work on 1997 240sx?

Now before you say "of course" when i say hub im actually referring to aluminum piece that the multilink suspension components bolt to...not the actual 5 lug piece that spins.

Seems like i read somewhere is does but some kind of modification was necessary. Also will it change offset(push wheels further out)?

Hopefully someone can help.

Hub is a hub. Upright is an upright. Use the correct terminology, and then do a search. You'll be amazed at what you find.

the uprights will fit but the lower strut mount is different (forked vs round) so you need to take that into consideration when changing over parts

Sorry i just realized it was called an upright, ive always called it a hub but "technically" i know thats incorrect.

Kinda like when some one says "shock" when i know their referring to a "strut" i try to actually answer their question rather than calling them out when i know what they mean.

i think in the article they had JIC coilovers so you can get just the 300zx lower mounts.

wonder though...arent s14 rear struts longer?
for s13 you can use rear z32 shock, so i guess for s14 changing the lower mount is the only way to go.

I called JIC the other day they can make me a coilover with the proper forked bottom. I really figured there would be a way to do it with out going coilovers but appearantly not. I guess unless i do coilover the benefits dont outweight the cost.

Apparently, you can't read. I just listed what shock you can use above.

Now getting a pair of them is another issue.

And yes, I call people out. Why? The next person that searches this topic might find this thread and still be confused. Then it's back to some poor newbie schmuck asking a lot of pointless questions because the proper terminology wasn't used.

Thanks edubb11 ive already read that thing a thousand times over. While it seems comprehensive at first, there are many important things i have found to be left out. And some of the tips are misleading. Nevertheless, still the best how-to write up ive found thus far.

R240NA, if i knew what the hell a ECR33 shock was would i have even made this post? Probably not. So spouting off a series of numbers and letters without explaination to a "noob" really does no good now does it.

I believe you either:
a.think your doing whats right
or
b. like to be the wise guy thats knows it all and has to prove it to everyone(every forum has one or two)

For example, before i had my 240 i had an srt-4, hence my s/n. I happen to work for a company that produces one of the top selling exhaust on srtforums. Im no expert but i probably know more about the srt-4 than 85% of the people over there, why? Because i have hands on experiance. When some noob comes on and ask a question thats been asked a thousand times do i jump down his throat, no. I either post a polite, concise answer....or i leave them be.

For someone thats just getting into the drifting game and is asking questions, you come off like a complete ass hole.

an ECR33 is a nissan skyline chassis designation for the RWD version of the R33 skyline
also dont go JIC if you can avoid it many people on this site have had bad expierences (search on it) and quit getting all butthurt over the shit that gets flung around here the information is being given we just like to add some flare to it.
If you are only here to learn about the MaD TyTe DrifTah yO then please leave go over to drifting.com or some other fanboy site. If you want to learn about your car stick around and quit whining
and by the way it is not an srt-4 its a NEON

Did you ask what an ECR33 is? Nope. Seems like that would have been the right thing to say instead of "Since no one will help me and answer my question I'll just go cry in the corner".
You may be polite on SRT4 forums, that's your call. I'd guess a forum devoted to a queer ass FWD car built by the shittiest auto manafacturer known to man and run by a thieving crook who's business practices surpass the mafia in underhandedness is going to be filled with a bunch of idiots anyway, you guys have to be nice because everyone's in the same boat.

Not here. I'm an asshole. Complete and total. But ask anyone who's been attacked by me if they remember the answer to the stupid question they asked, they'll say they do. And the next time they post they'll remember it and realize we're not here to hold each other's hands and lick asses. Research is the key to being an experienced and knowledgeable person. Kids these days don't understand anything unless you throw in their face with a wad of spit. That's what I do, spit. As much as people hate the guys who are mean to them, at the end of the day they respect the answers they get from them because it's true, correct, and to the point.

I dont agree with your method. I can be a real dick just like you but i usually save that for assholes that deserve it, not people who are trying to learn. Im 24, not a kid by any means. In the adult world you dont get far treating or talking to people the way you do. You can be to the point and concise with tact and dignity, you choose not to do so. Maybe your not like this in real life(for your own sake i hope not), if this is the one place you can come and be King Dingaling and feel like you really "told someone how it is" then thats your choice. I consider this matter closed. You treat people your way and ill treat them mine.

Gpelle, thanks for the info im currently looking into that method.

you need:

-2 lower ball joint seats, nissan part#40173-33P00.
-damper with a lower fork mount as was mentioned.
-a hammer to bang out the steel ring on the end of the 240s axles if your uprights still have the stock 300zx rubber seal on them.

R240NA was not by any means nice...asshat. As soon as someone questions him he starts crying about how gay SRT-4's are. Ive been watching these forums...many people including you suck his wing-wang, hence one of his quotes as your signature. I dont give a shit if i have 50 post and he has 50000. Sorry i questioned Master Yoda ...please forgive me .....k im done with you...moving on....

To the answer of quit comming here.....there have been more people who HAVE BEEN helpfull than assholes that have not, so i will continue to ask questions and if you have a problem with it STAY THE F--- OUT OF MY THREAD.....no one asked for your opinion.. thanks and by all means if one of the mods wants to close this thread ill second the motion becuase its pointless now.

BTW guys, stop crying

Actually you didn't at all question him. You just didn't know what he was saying, didn't even bother to search so you got flamed and now youre just lashing out.
Since you're 24 and a big boy, you should know that here we dont go around and spoon feed you the step-by-step how to's If you can't figure out after he gave you the answer, you're to dumb to do it. go search now.
