We have just put up our timing belt and water pump install update. If you are doing a swap of your own, these are two things we recommend that you do. Lots of pics and write ups. http://www.driftfactory.com/dfcar.php |

![]() Looks like stuffs just going slow though, doesn't look like they don't have the money to fund it... which is what seems to keep most people I know from finishing their cars quickly. |

Monk, ain't that the truth. If we had the TIME, this car would have been completed yesterday. I don't think it will be too much longer. Sometimes we have a lot of free time to work on it, other times, it slows down for sure. Customer orders and suppliers come first - unfortunately the car comes a close second.
We hope to debut it at the December D1 Grand Prix event. That's not guaranteed but its our goal for now. One of our employees has left for Europe for three weeks so we are holding the fort til then. But we have done some other stuff that we haven't had time to post up yet. Also, getting sponsors was not an easy task and takes a bit of time. Thanks guys for the support. The car will be done in the end. Meanwhile, we just hope you enjoy our (slow) progress and we're glad to hear that so many people are enjoying the write ups and pics. |

Getting sponsors would be easier if you had credibility and could drive. Or have ever been to a drift event outside of a vendors booth. Just my opinion... seemed to work for me.
This build-up has been so damn slow its ridiculous. What kind of experience are you going off of to set up this car. You like the suspension you have? Ever used it? Think those wheels are gonna fit? And still be able to turn? How go you like not getting to full counter steer? Haven't tested it? What kind of tuning/mods are you doing to the RB? Is it going to be stock or 972 hp like Kuroi's onevia? I think there are more pressing issues at hand other than "Drift Factory Drift Car Gets New Motor! And We Unpack it and Stuff it in the Corner!" or "Drift Factory Drift Car Gets Semi Truck Wheels and We Unpack Them and Stuff Them in the Corner!". |

Well riddle me this... if you are fitting those VIP wheels for time attack, I'm assuming they aren't going to be sticking out 4 inches, and will be flush. For time attack. But for drifting, you will have something you CAN get full counter with. But it won't be flush with the extreme widebody? WTF Lametown. If you make your backup wheels flcuh with the bodywork you do for THOSE wheels, they too will not reach full counter.
Give you and example, since you have obviously not thought of any of this. 17x9 -6 with 235/40/17 on my car rubs all sorts of shit with FRP 20mm fenders without me hammering the fuck out of my wheel wells and relocating harnesses and shit. Its flush with the fender and just barely tucking tread. And you are going to be in MUCh worse shape than me with those VIP blinging things. That's what pisses me off, you haven't thought anything out. Have stiffer spring rates for your rockin' Teins up front?? If no, you think RB26DETT isn't 200+ lbs more than what those springs are meant for? I know people with RBs in thier S chassis. Without like 10-12k springs, the front has a lot of problems at high speed. Thought about that? Catch my drift? (ha!) Putting your customers first is cool, but how do you think customers view you having this 30-year-long buildup? |

Why in the world would our car 'piss you off'? As far as accusing us of not thinking everything through, how do you know? You obviously haven't even read much about what we are doing if you think that we are rocking teins and asking us if we have considered a spring rate for the RB. Our coilovers were custom made for an S13 with an RB26dett swap. They are not Teins at all but rather they are from our sponsor Kei Office. They were also tested in Japan on an RB26DETT swapped S13 before being air frieghted to us. This testing was done on our behalf by Kei Office. As far as the issue goes with fitting both sets of wheels, the car is going to have both a time attack and a drifting configuration. With not only different wheels but different fenders as well. Both sets of fenders will have the same bolt pattern and switching between the two configurations will take an hour at most. At first I thought that your questions were just in relation to not understanding what we are doing here. But now I see that you haven't even taken the time to research what we are doing before blindly attacking the idea. I guess that defending ourselves against someone who for some reason is taking personal offense at what we do without even researching it is pretty pointless. If you have a specific question about our choices fine, but please don't come at us with misinformation when we have our intentions clearly posted for the world to see. I am open to suggestions, just not attacks. As for your comment about a 30 year long build up, we aren't building this car for our customers, we are building this car because we enjoy it. Plenty of companies out there pay other people to build their cars for them. While we don't have anything against this, and it is the faster option, we planned from the beginning to do this ourselves and to share the information as it comes along. We're aware that everyone has different preferences when it comes to cars and setups, we are also fully aware that you can never please everyone. You may not like the end result, but we hope that people are at least going to be able to appreciate the amount of work that goes into a project like this and from the emails and responses we have received so far, this has been the case. |

I appreciate the response, it was good. Sorry, i don't have anything personally wrong about your cars, but i just don't particularly see eye-to-eye with your approach.
As for suspension, I know Driftfactory is sponsored by Kei Office, I was just making a joke, nevermind, inside thing. Honestly, i don't think you know how much you are up against. Swapping fenders? Cool I guess. Sponsored by Origin right? Well me too. They only have 20mm fronts and 50mm rears. Those won't fit your show, errr. time attack wheels. So I assume you are going with something custom? Custom out back to fit the Semi truck wheels and I guess run spacers to fill it out with the "drift" wheels (haha i can imagine 3 50mm bolt-ons and a 5Zigen FN01RC. Haha). And in the front run custom again with the bling and small for the drift wheels? So when drifting you'll have like a 17x9 +0 up front lets assume and a 18x9 -76 in rear?! Hahaha it will look way funny and drift like shit... Too much rear track compared to the front. I dunno. You say swap fenders? Swap rear 1/4 panels too?!!?! Have you ever done rear wide 1/4 panels? I have. You aren't swapping shit! That would be such a huge pain in the ass you would rather shoot yourself in the scrotum before swapping rear 1/4s. Def. would take longer than 1 hour. In all honesty, your car represents all the dreamers. All the people who say "Oh i'm gonna do this this and this!!" And never even get an LSD. That's unfortunately how i see your car. I would love to be proved wrong cause it WOULD and possibly COULD be pretty badass, but there is something to be said about having a tried and true, fairly simple and still HOT setup. It saves a lot of time and money, works just as good if not better, and its usually easier to drive. Heh. BTW, what's this car being built for? I mean, level of competition. And who's the driver? |
