painting my stripped interior.

so i decided to strip my interior and did it the old fashion way with a hammer and a chizzle. well long stroy short i sanded it down and it came out pretty clean. the whole dry ice thing was just taking way to long so i just started chipping away. well then came deciding what color to paint my interior. i started with a duplicolor high temp black since i know near the tranny it tends to get hot and i dint wanna deal with repainting the interior but the paint wasnt sticking well at all. so then my friend suggested using the stuff they use in the back of trucks to make it rough. the spray stuff. sounded like a good idea but that stuff doesnt stick eithery. now i have a sprayed up interior and need to put more time taking the crap paint and stuff off. can anyone suggest a good paint to use inside. preferably in a can ? oh and that paint stuff for the truck smells real bad like tar so that wasnt cool either. anyways thanks guys.
