I got a email from Enjuku Racing like a month ago and it said they had a deal on what they said was the Redesigned OBX Short Shifter. Anyone know what was changed from the previous design?

Or mabey a TUBE of epoxy, and you gotta remedy it yourself. But at least they redesigned the box to accomodate the tube for ya.

Rampid just bought a OBX shifter on Ebay, and I dunno if it is the new style or the old. But it looks the same as any picture I have ever seen. With the exception of... I don't see a place for it to break. It looks pretty one piece constructed.

Hey I have one. I got it from Don. It's got metal on the shaft where I guess you guys were saying that it separates. There is a picture on PDM's website. It seem real solid to me.One solid piece of metal. I've had it a week, no problems. I'll keep you guys updated if I had problems. $80 special on Don's website.

From PDM-racing

New revised shifters by OBX are billet steel 2 piece chromed shifters that decrease the shifter throw on your S13 240SX or S14 240SX by 33%. Simple hand tools to install, and notice the definite shorter throw required to row through the gears. Super special at $80.00. Fits all S13, S14 and Japanese and European 180SX and 200SX models.

New features include:

Heavier, more solid shifter body, with more metal to metal contact of the 2 halves
Full chrome plating of the shifter
Hard anodized brackets and rings
PDM supplied shifter boot and nylon bushing
Revised shifter hardware

the shifter is a two peice design (same as stock, really) that uses a fairly weak bonding compound to hold it's two halves together where they are seperated by a rubber bushing. it's an easy thing to fix though... just use a few drops of good two part epoxy and it won't seperate any time soon.
