I saw someone on another post said that if they got the SR20DET front clip it would make their car right hand drive?   This isnt true is it?  Also, Would and mods need to be done to the steering to make the SR work in a 89-93 240?  Thanks for the advice in advance.  (I'm new here so sorry if this has already been asked)

Also little parts on the engine like sensors and vacumm hoses are a lot less likely to get broken during shipment if you ship the entire front clip and it will include everything. Even though most people say that the motor includes everything you need to complete the swap, sometimes small parts are missing or get broken(when you don't buy the clip but just the motor, tranny, ecu).

Engine set are quite a bit cheaper then a clip. I would recommand a clip. The engine set will only come with motor, tranny, ecu, and harness, where as a clip will come with everything, from the above mentioned parts to AC compressor, AC lines, to radiators, basically the whole nine yards. Why is it better, well, in the long run you will spend more money and time looking for parts for the engine set, whereas you can use the parts that are on the clip already, no modifications. If you have pre-90 240SX (I believe), you can also use the JDM cluster so the tach will work. Also, with engine sets, lots of times, the oil pan are damaged during transit, where as the oil pans for motors shipped in clips are protected by the frame, not causing any damage.

As for right hand drive, you are looking at mega custom modifications, not many done to my knowledge, if any.

Thanks

thanks for the help guys.  i found a front clip online with eveything included for 1600 plus shipping.  This is the best deal I've seen.  also, how much would it cost to get done or could i do it myself?  I have the time I just need to no if it really hard or if the front clip would make it much easier.  Thanx again.

Did you find that at an auction?  or at an importer or something?  Can you share where this source is for the group?  if it's an auction or something, then we understand you hiding such a great deal.  I know I would.

I would also like to know the difficulty in doing the swap if you had a clip.  I was thinking of trying it myself, which I have a good understanding of the mechanical part, but I have never actually never really worked on doing a swap or anything major inside the engine bay.  I could get access to a hoist and all the tools necessary.

One thing to keep in mind when buying a front clip is ..... the shell, the left overs, you'll have to chuck it somewhere ... other then that, I would choose a front clip over just the engine package.

$1600, wow, that's an excellent price.  If that's true, I wll grab it ASAP, because you are not going to find it anywhere else.

The swap, for someone that knows about cars and are mechnically inclined, should be able to do the swap in a couple of days, given all tools and parts are available.  It is bascially dropping an engine in, but I have heard the hard part is wiring.

Thanks

over at www.deeperimage.com they bought 2 of those sr20det front clips. One blacktop (Jose) and one redtop (Shawn).
Shawns is near completion, I believe it just needs the fine tuning, dunno if he's tried cranking it yet.
Joses is yet to be installed.

Be sure to join the forums and check out the Nissan forum, lots of pictures of shawns install, quite a few threads full of pictures, a couple knowledgeable guys on Nissans. Lots of other car forums over there, even an initial d forum <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I'm sure Joses install will be full of pictures as well

btw I'm a moderator of the Nissan and Mazda Forums.
Enjoy.
