ecu compatabilities.

ok, heres the deal, i have an s14 kouki sr20det, ecu is bad, melted an injector wire, and shorted the circuit that controls my #4 injector. so ive found a guy selling an s14 ecu, but it isnt an exact match, and i dont know if it will work, can you guys help me out a bit?

heres the info on my ecu.
NA
23710 80f00
a18-f01 g08

now, heres his ecu info.

S14 97-98 sr20det ecu #J4 23710-60f07 A18-F81 GB1

what would be the big difference here? it seems if its a kouki sr20det it should be compatable right?

I have a kouki s14 sr20det also. I was in the same dilemma about a month ago. I found an ECU on eBay for $235 shipped from rhd_japan. They're pretty hard to come by, but should cost you anywhere from $150 to 350.

The ONLY ecu you can use is "NA". WC will not work, neither will J4. I believe J4 is a blacktop s13 sr20det kouki... not s14.

PM me, I may know a person who has an extra ECU

I have the same problem too, I happen to have kouki SR20DET from auto. I have the WC ECU but told that this will not work. It is hard to find NA ECU so I might just end up getting a zenki harness and hopefully that will work with my WC ECU.

Yup if you get the zenki s14sr wiring harness, it will work. But what a PITA.

IMO I'd wait til you find a "NA" ecu. They come up on eBay from time to time like rps13 said. Good luck !

At this moment I am hoping my engine is the kouki ones. The VIN tag from the firewall are included and it says 1998 but I do not have the ridges like the one mentioned here
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.p...et+kouki+zenki

I do notice though that the MAF plug is different than my KA and that the oil pressure sender connector is white, which some said for the pressure sensor.
I also heard that the kouki has 440cc injector but mine is definitely purple top, just like other zenki I have seen.

To make matters worse, I do not have kouki service manual so I cannot compare what is exactly the wiring differences.
