I sent him a PM for his offsets too a few days ago. No reply yet. In the meantime, where I can see pics of your 17x9.5's with 255's?

Edit: He just responded. Those are the 17x9.5+12's with those 275's on them. Gangster.

Yeah, because a 285 tire on a stock bodied S13 is so common

The car you posted is no great feat...... S14 body for one, and 50mm overs for god sakes.

I don't understand this comment. the 315 on a 10 on a 50mm over'd S14 is wildly less impressive.

I guess I'm confused at what your point is!?! These are two completely different cars. The S14 can fit wider to begin with. Then add the fact that it has 50mm overs...... it better damn well have 315's on it. Only difference is I would have a 12" wide wheel on it.

Just updated my post with some more photos I just took:
http://zilvia.net/f/chat/166563-maxi...ml#post3514617

Fronts are currently 18x8.5 +20 with 215/40 with -1.4degree camber.

Front wheels/tyres aren't maximum fitment yet, saving up for some 235/40 for the fronts soon.

I don't have any alignment specs as the car still has all the stock rear suspension stuff. Everything has just been done via line of sight until I get the car running well enough to take it to a shop... but I have plenty of room to zero out my camber

More pictures will be updated once I actually get it out of the garage haha

Broadfield, it's hard to tell from your pics; which has a more concave face - r disk or o disk?

The actual spoke design is basically the same. It's the back spacing of the hub where the difference is. As you can see the lug nut area is very deep on the R-disk. This pushes the spokes out to make room for bigger calipers. Thus giving you less dish. This is the only pic I have to compare the faces.

What it means is more sidewall compression on launch, which leads to a bigger contact patch.

When turning, it means the tires lean on their sidewalls, reducing their contact patch and making turn in feel sloppy.

So no, a taller sidewall does not mean more traction, it means more traction for drag racing, less traction and predictability for handling.

This isn't the S-chassis drag racing thread.

i didnt say he needed a 70s sidewall.... there is a point where a sidewall is to small and the car will just slide even with wide tires. If the sidewall is too small then it will be too stiff, accel or turning. Im just saying a slightly taller sidewall would be more useful. I just assumed these ppl wanted big tires to have more traction. I guess i was wrong, maybe it just like stretch, some ppl just like the look.
