Did you ever upgrade the MAF and push it past 420 whp? Or was that 0-60 on the old 6 psi tune?

Well i decided i had enough of the stock intake manifold and heard and saw some rumors and photos so i decided i would experiment, just got the intake manifold it comes from a 4.5l 2005 porsche cayenne, it came complete with fuel rails and injectors. It looks boss.

From preliminary measurements everything lines up port wise except the bolts obviously.

I only see two issues so far.

1. Its taller than i thought it would be.

2. Its gonna interfere with the factory thermostat housing.

My tentative plans are to lower it as much as possible and if possible drill erectly into the heads or run a small spacer less than 1 inch, also to remove the factory cooling system and go to electric water pump with the inlets and outlets coming out through the back.

Anyway enough of my banter onto the pictures....

well got to mock it up today... coolant lines are a non issue as it will be high enough ultimately..

Heres some pics and measurements.

overall it will be 1.5 to 1 3/4 inches lower than the stock manifold

spacer will be 1.25 to 1.5 inches

heres the problem, it lines up a little worse than i thought so it may need some massaging.

the stock throttle Vh45de body bolts up after a little filing of the bolt holes, and I'm talking slight filing here.

Is this manifold something that you just 'through of' or has it been used in the past? Curious as to if the Ford manifolds from the mod-motors would have fit?

well the finished product is gonna be 10mm lower than that, its being milled down as we speak. I wanted to make it higher on purpose. From experience its much harder to add material than remove it.

It also looks really tall because there are no valve cover on the engine. In the end it should either be as tall or slightly shorter than the stock one.

We shall see

What's the purpose of the Porsche intake swap? Just noodl'n around? Is it actually supposed to be worth some horsepower? Did you flow it vs the vh intake?

No i didn't flow it. I don't know for sure although i hope it will make some more hp up top. Having said that i will be doing a before and after dyno comparison.

reasons i did this...

1. bored
2. top feed fuel injectors
3. aesthetics / packaging.
4. cool factor

who knows... it might be an epic failure in the end haha.

and no i won't be producing a kit.
