I had the exact same problem. Turns out my timing was off by one mark, and the exhaust valve hit the piston just the slightest bit, killing compression to 80 across the board.
So..yeah. Try checking your compression with either a gauge, or by dumping oil in there to temporarily seal your rings. If it starts up with oil, let it run for like 20 minutes or so. It's possible your rings need to snap open. Then try starting it again w/o oil. If it don't work, then compression test is your best answer..
