Well started with a nice High Life after work...then went to a troeginator when I got home.

Now just cracked a nice Ballast Point - Sculpin IPA probably the best IMO IPA out there (and yes, I've had Elder/Younger on tap).

beer in california is for people 21 and up, well pretty soon after prop 19 passes, this thread might turn into a beer / pot thread..... but the best bear i have had was this micro brew from Oggi's Pizza / brewery in San Diego, called Black Magic, it was a dark brew with chocolatey hints and it wasn't as snob thick as guiness.. it was sure good. the jug was good. the night was good.... and yeah....

anyone else have the Yard House near them

What I had a few days back.

Stone Vertical Epic 06.06.06. So freaking delicious. I wish I bought a second one to age longer. Maybe if I can get my paws on another one...

Haha so I assume it's held up half decent? Good to know

I just had a fresh 10.10.10 and it was great. Much as expected it should last the 2 years to 12/12/12 ahehe.

Out of all of them that I've had, 07 was my favorite, 09 was my least. 05/08 were both good but nothing crazy to me.

It held up very well. It was a pretty complex beer but I loved all the flavors I was getting. It was VERY malty, caramely, and chocolaty. I was drinking it a little colder than the recommended temperature so I couldn't pick up on the alcohol at first but when it started warming up GOD DAMN it was strong. It tasted very good though if you like a rich full bodied beer.

Last night I went over to Shawnee Craft (new micro here in town) and had their first sour attempt. Raspberry Blanch aged with some brett thrown in. It shockingly good. I'm going back today for their pumpkin

Beer bump.

My growing collection going on. Unfortunately I can't crack any of these open until around Christmas.

From left to right:
Sierra Nevada Fritz & Ken Stout
Brouwerij St. Bernardus NV Christmas Ale
Southern Tier Pumking
Berkshire Brewing Company Inc. Coffeehouse Porter
Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA
Stone Brewing Co. Kona Coffee Macadamia Coconut Porter (2)

Also Today I picked up an Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout from Great Divide Brewing Company. Planning on picking up some other goodies before Christmas to have my fridge stocked.

This past week had some nice ones

2010 Weyerbacher Riserva...super sour and perfect...to date their best offering of this wild ale.

2010 Bethlhem BrewWorks/Fegleys Rude Elf Reserve (GABF winner)
THis blows Mad Elf out of the water.

2010 Anchor Steam Xmas Ale
THis wasn't bad, odd spice in it this year. Decent tho!

Bruery = 3 French Hens (in bottle and draft)

Bottle was MUCH better than draft! Excellent beer...not as good as Partidge in a Pear Tree (year one) but light years better than 2 Turtle Doves

2010 Weyerbacher Quad
Always good...still a bit hot, but it sould age nicely

2010 Weyerbacher Mike
WHat a nice low key Belgian Dubble from Weyerabcher! One of the better of the Brewer Select

2010 Weyerbacher November
VERY Nice beer. However it's not one I want a lot of, or often. Just a nice 'once in a while' beer. Strong coffee taste.

Also a few Sierra Nevada Pale Ales in there, and some High Lifes at the Parents house Yesterday.

...

I think I drink to much lol!

I'm very surprised that there are people on here that have very good taste in beer. I like that.
Just bought a Two Brothers Heavier Handed IPA 3 Liter bottle. I'm thinking about aging it for few years.
Last week, I had one of my Lagunitas Brown Shugga aged for 4 years. That was so good.
What's on my hot list right now:
-Goose Island Rare: aged for 23 years
-Goose Island Bourbon County Vanilla Stout
-Goose Island Lolita, madame rose
-Drank 2010 vintage
-Guinness Foreign Extra Stout
- Stone Lucky Bastard ( A combination of Arrogant Bastard, Oaked Bastard and double bastard)
- Rochefort Trappist #10
-Dogfish head Squall (Dogfish head 90 minutes bottle conditioned)
More to come.

I'm loving the good taste in beer that has come up recently. Personally a fan of fairly hoppy IPAs, current favorites are:

Terrapin Hopsecutioner
Sweetwater IPA
Bell's Two Hearted Ale

Also have been messing around trying all of the new seasonal ales that have been coming out, loving that brewers have moved away from the lagers.

Has anyone else here tried Belikin beer? I had it at a bar called The Wet Lizard while stopped in Belize on a Carnival cruise. It was really cheap there because it was local. It tasted great! The have a lighthouse, regular, medium and stout. I tried all four and each was better than the last. Pretty good alcohol content too. Something like 6.25% if I remember correctly.

I'd say most of their beers are B rating and above. I can't say I like 3 Phil, but many do. I do enjoy their Rare Vos and Dubble. Biere De Mars is neat too, but kind of a 'once and done' beer.

I was reading on the site they are marketed as kind of 'special occasion' brews.

In other news, I tried this for the first time the other night. I've had the tripel which was good, but this is better IMO.
