Has anyone put a 315 on a 10" rim? Can it be done? Will it be horrible? I have an S13, and I have yet to see a picture of the FN01R-c's in the +12 offset on an S13. I know there's much less room as opposed to an S14.

Why do you want to put a 315 on a 10" wheel? You're going to completely compromise the sidewall doing that.
I have FN01R-C's in the size your asking on the rear of my S14 with 255-40-17 NT-05's and it required a 3/4" pull. So I wouldnt suggest it because your going to have to pull your rear fenders out about a mile. |

Well that's what I'm trying to get at. I'm trying to figure out if I should just go ahead and get the Origin 50mm overfenders. Which I believe I will if you had to pull your fenders out that much on an S14.
And I didn't know about the tires....hence the reason I'm asking. How much does it compromise the sidewall? Or what's the widest tire you can put on a 10" rim? |

I wouldnt go over a 275-40-17 and the problem with that is its a tall ass tire. The problem with 17's is once you go over 255's tires become really tall because they dont make a 35 series.
Yes I would suggest getting over fenders on your car if you want do that set up and not have retarded pulled fenders and run lots of excessive camber. What are you trying to do with the car? 255-40-17 NT05's have been working well on track day 240's with upwards of 340hp. You need to worry about what you can fit up front because running a huge stagger on these cars sucks. In reality your best bet is an 18" wheel so you can run a 285-35-18 tire but thats an expensive option. |

hmm, i have 275 on a 5zigen 10 inch +12, think a 30mm over fender will clear the tire with tein basics, not slammed but a moderate drop.... pulling the fenders is moot due to damage

I think you should be good with -1.5 to -2.0 degrees of camber out back w/ the 30mm overs

Mickey Thompson makes a 315/35/17 drag radial. Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels I have seen 315's on S13's before, it's all in the offset of the wheel. I was curious about the FN01R-c's specifically. But if it won't work on a 10" wheel, I'll either just get the 275's, or do the whole overfender thing and go with wider wheels. |

I don't have good 'meat' shots 235 front 255 rear I reallllly wish I had a 245 that would work nicely in the front, and a 265 in the rear, but that'll be till mid season when these wear out.

This thread needs some serious cleanup to get the retardation out.
"Let's keep this pure, people. NO 205s/215s/225s/235s. Everyone and their mother can rock those on an S13 with no fender modifications at all, and they all happen to be on the small side." |

Car looks great Cody for a nice simple build. Definately could use some more rear rim and tire though. Looking a little skinny for 400whp. Looking a tad sunk there with the skinny rear tire on the high offset wheel. Nothing a small spacer couldnt cure though.

hey guys!
so i'm thinking of getting a new wheel/tire/body combo for my 180sx. i used to run 235s up front and 255s in the rear. but i don't like the feel of the whole stagger thing so i'm thinking of going 245 or even 255 all around on 17x9". so i was wondering if i could make that fit on the front without rubbing anywhere on full lock (stock steering angle). i was planning of running 20mm overfenders up front, depending on the offset of the wheels maybe even 40mm. i don't care if i need fender tubs, i just want to know if it is actually possible or not. |

You can fit 245's under stock fenders depending on how low your car is. If its not super slammed you shouldnt have to much of an issue.

What size/offset wheels? I'm working on OEM metal wide fenders for my car, I'm sick of rubbing and I want 10's in the front.

I used to run 255/40-17's all around in 2008 with a 17x9 +22 setup w/ a 8mm spacer up front to clear the perch on the coilover...fit the tire under the fender no problem even though this years setup was a little smaller in tire width(245), the added offset and wheel width along(9.5 +18) with the 8mm spacer caused it to max out the fender. Also ran -3.4 degrees of camber up front both seasons Hope this gives you an idea |

I only run -2.5 up front with 255's on a 9"+15 wheel. My fender is right on top of my wheel so everytime I turn the wheel in a corner they meet, its getting old.

What's everyones opinion on Federal brand tires, specifically the SS595? I plan on running a 255F/275R setup on my S13 and mainly want a tire that wont blow off when I open the ole V8 (VH) up.
Comments or suggestion would be awesome? |

Look for a tire with a utqg rating of about 220 or less. It really depends on whether you care for dry or wet traction too. Check out the Kumho XS's for dry traction.

Or NT05's, They're about the same price, very close in dry grip but are much better in the rain imo.
