You can take a 16 inch reverse lip wheel and make it a 17 inch wheel with stepped lips... But those gold Ones are already stepped

Rotiform can make you lips and barrels to increase the diameter of BBS wheels:

I expect the service to be very expensive, but they do look cool.

its $225 per lip or barrel ($1800 full set) as i was quoted to have my 16in full verse mesh built into 17's. my centers are 15.5in outer diameter though. havent done it yet. hopefully within the next couple months.

Just got my Weds Kranze Cerberus I's back from powder yesterday. Gloss white faces with satin black barrels for easy clean up. Also threw some black hardware on them as well. The original specs were 18x7.5+50, trying to get some 4.5" and 5.5" lips to make them 11+6/12-7. I'm having a hard time with VR trying to acquire these right now...

only pics I've got right meow. Sorry about the shitty cell phone quality

I'm refinishing the center caps right now to match my theme a little better. Just stripped the paint off and now they're like painting a model car on the inside!

This may be a stupid question, but hopefully someone can clarify this for me. When you throw a step lip on a wheel to increase the diameter, do you need to rebarrel them as well? Cause the ones I've seen appear to have a larger diameter in the front than the rear...

If you are going from a 17" reverse or flat lip wheel to an 18" step lip wheel, you must get new lips and new barrels.

Thanks for the clarification Jdizzy204! What do a full set of barrels usually go for?

has anyone here personally used eric vaughn machine? if so how did it turn out? turn around time? i was gonna send my wheels to weldcraft but one has a slight ding on the outer lip edge. they said they cant widen that one as itll distort when cut apart. however eric vaughn says they cut the outer edge off and replace it with one from a donor wheel shell, so sounds like it would be the perfect way to widen this rim without any issues. just he doesnt have many testimonials on his site.

So I just got some wheels in and Im looking to add bigger lips. Wheel sizes are 18x7.5 +37 and 18x8.5 +29. I want the 18x7.5 to be 18x9.5 and the 18x8.5 to be 18x9.
18x7.5 ----> 18x9.5
18x8.5 ----> 18x9

My question is what are the current lip sizes on my wheel?

This is the 18x7.5

This the 18x8.5

Are they 2" and 2.5 inches?

measure on the outside of the lip, it's much easier. The width of the lip will be the distance from the bottom edge of the lip (or outer edge of the face) to the outer edge of the lip BUT subtract 1/2" to account for the bead.

These came in last week
Work Rezax II's 18x10 +2 and 18x11+2

I ordered these from VRWheels.com The 18x10's were originally a 18x12 so I asked if they would relip/rebarrel them for me leaving the price the same and they told me I could resize in any size and specs and they would build them with brand new lips!! They did it in one day and shipped out the next day! I am very pleased with them.

Ok cool thanks guys that helped a lot. Seemed like a lot of misinformation around the web.

Not sure if this was covered but for every 1/2" added to the outside barrel (lip) the offset drops -6mm correct?

.5in = 12.7, so if you were to add an extra .5in you should subtract 12.7mm from the original offset.

LOL, dude, we've already gone over this. adding an inch of lip will only change your offset by a little under 13mm. I was confused as fuck at first too, but if you do the math it all checks out.

You need to understand when u add a inch it does not go directly to lowering the offset by 1 inch since u have 2 halves basically when u are figuring out offset. So if you add something to a lip u only factor in half off whatever you add. you need to understand how offsets work to understand what i mean/how it works.

This is not the same as adding a spacer since when u add a spacer your are applying it to the backspace of a wheel.

As far as fitment goes,weather you were to add a inch spacer or add a inch to the lip it will have the same effect on clearence to the fender, but offset wont be the same.

well, i had to write it down, but i finally figured it out.
it was just difficult to understand since for some reason i also thought you were stating that adding 1in (25.4mm) doesnt mean gaining an actual inch @ the lip... but the specific topic here was that a full inch on only 1 side wouldnt change the final offset by a full inch, etc.
"you need to understand how offsets work to understand what i mean/how it works." was silly of you to say, though. you can understand a main concept yet not understand one of it's 'sub' concepts.
