LHD converted S15 in the Philippines - Legit!
I know there was another thread on this but I couldn't find it, so I started another thread. In the Philippines it's illegal to drive a RHD car so they do LHD conversions. The s15 dash is aftermarket, but it looks pretty legit. Here are the pics. The car is an n/a s15 with a pimped ass ARC intake:
As you can see from the pics, the conversion is pretty legit. The only things that give it away are the tweaked out a-pillar boost gauge and that the trunk/fuel door release is on the right side This particular car was at a dealership in Subic Bay and was for sale at P500,000 which is around $12k usd The cars come from Cagayan do Oro in Mindanao which is the main port of entry from Japan. The dealerships at Subic are owned by Pakistani Muslims (not that it matters) but it was interesting hearing them say: Asalam Alaiksam! Alaiksam Salam haha Last edited by usdm180sx; 02-11-2012 at 05:50 AM.. |

you can also tell because the ebrake is still on the right too. but I read somewhere that there is a company that cuts the dash in three pieces then swaps them using fiberglass or something.

IIRC, there was a company in Taiwan that did this. Same company that were doing LHD conversions for Skylines and importing them to the middle east.
There's also a handful of S-chassis guys in Philippines...Nissan actually imported a few LHD S14s into Philippines with SR20s in them. As far as the dash, I was never a fan of S15 dashes. I hate the round vents and alot of the trims are painted on. After a while, they start chipping/peeling off and they look like shit (specially around the shifter). Why Nissan couldnt just change the color of the plastic instead of painting them is beyond me. |

I met a couple of them on Auto Industriya...I was trying to catch up with some of them for a track day but couldnt find a way to make it north. Got a guy I knew in Okinawa who have gone back a couple of times and competed in a couple drift events by Subic Bay. He said he had a blast drifting an RB20 Cefiro.
