It isnt easy to build an SR20 engine right, even if you know what you are doing. If those are cast aluminum pistons, and if that was my engine, I would:

A. Put it back together the best I could and cross my fingers that it's ok
B. Pick up an OEM longblock just in case its not

That way instead of being discouraged when you find the situation has not been improved you can just slap another engine in and be done, daily driving.
