P1400 code wont go away!

Hi i have a 95 240sx and I have had the p1400 code since I got the car. I have changed the egr solenoid valve twice already and the code still persists. I dont really want to change it again since its a real PITA so could anything else be causing this code? Im just trying to get rid of my CEL. Any help would be appreciated.

This may sound like a dumb question, but you never know.

Did you reset the code after replacing the part?

Also, did you make sure the wiring from the sensor to the ecu is in good condition and not effected in any way?

i'm assuming ka24de? the egr system could be plugged...try pulling the tube and checking for restrictions. Know anyone with a legit scan tool? not the cheap 3-500 dollar ones, something that can turn the egr on and off while the engine is running to see if the engine stumbles at idle.(signifies whether or not the system is working.
