I am 3 hours away from the importer and they said 1600 for a jdm 2jzgte non vvti no tranny or ecu. They said they do compression test and will do it in front of me and will give me a 30 day warranty.

Why did you get a maf?

VVTI uses MAP and MAF for the stock ecu.

So did I read this wrong on page 1?

Quote:
The USDM 2JZ runs off afm/maf + map, where as the JDM one is map based, no afm
To clarify my question: The JDM 2JZ-GTE VVTi out of the Aristo will use what setup? MAF + MAP or just MAP?

I have seen that too... Saying that the JDM aristo 2jzgte vvti was only a MAP based ECU.

But mine definitely has a MAP sensor and AFM. The AFM was in the stock intake tube/air filter assembly.

Anyone running a single setup on a RHD S13? I'm curious about the clearance with the steering collum. What is the best cheap manifold. dont wanna pay 1000$+ and was wondering if the 200$ on ebay is any good.

This should be no problem. Same idea as putting a rb engine in a left hand drive car. Look at cxracing's manifold. It puts the turbo to the front

Saw someone on Instagram who was putting a single on their RHD swapped car. They mentioned they had to do some work around the steering column but made it work.

Also, I have heard that the CXRacing one that looks quite nice actually needs to have a few holes drilled out and potentially the use of a bolt/cut down a stud to make it fit. It's a nice looking unit but you may have to mod it. Suprastore.com has manifolds for 700.00 that are really sweet looking.

Paid $2,100 for jdm 2jz non vvti with all components, r154 with 1j bellhousing, bigger injectors and some other goodies like mount brackets and aeromotive fpr.

I think cast manifold is the way to go if you don't want to spend alot.

Okay I can pay around $500-$600 for a top mount. I see cxracing have it but they have it only in kits for like 2000$

The maf is somewhere in the local landfill now. I had my aem v2 before I even had my engine.
Jdm vvti and usdm 2jzgte engines used maf and map whereas the jdm non-vvti 2j uses only a map sensor.

If you don't care for looks get a cast manifold (SP Torque Monster manifold or Treadstone that has had the work taken care of already).

Sometimes I wish I went with a cast manifold for simplicity.

Set the hood on last night for the first time and was pissed. Lol
Crossmember to oil pan is about 3/4" to 1" but only have about 1/2" til it hits the steering rack. I dont get it...

I have a stock hood with spacers at the rear, but I still had to cut out some of the under bracing because it was hitting the throttle body/intake manifold as well as the fan shroud.
What mount kit are you using?

All depends on the mounts you use. I had the problem with the top of the ignition coil cover (above the cam gears) would rub on my d1 style (silvia) hood.

*Only thing I dislike about the hood are the vents when it rains lol, left nasty rain spots on parts

Xcessive. The engine is pretty low. I have about a 1/2" I can lower it more by cutting my hard engine mounts down. I dont think it still will be enough. Looks like its time to cut the hood support

Yea I have had this hood for a while. Now thinking... it was even touching my SR at the very top edge.

Always kept plastic over the hood when it was outside. But yea its a PITA

What's up guys. Any ProEFI 128 users in here with the CAN color gauge? If so, where/how did you mount it? I was thinking about using a sort of GPS-inspired mounting location around this area if possible.
