Cruise control not working??

Been trying to fix the cruise control for some time, used to work intermittently even though speedometer is broke, but rpms work, bought and changed speed sensor, still wont work... CLUE : The GREEN Light comes on side button, but not on the dash under speedometer when i try and set. Also changed the cruise control unit trying to fix this, still doesnt work...checked all the fuses but not the boxy things in with the fuses, anyone know what those are and how to check (maybe relay?? - what do i need to do to check this. THANKS kev

Hmm. Your ECU is probably not getting a speed signal. The way that the signal works is that is starts at the speed sensor (which you replaced), goes to the cluster where it is converted from a sin wave to a square wave. At this point the newly converted signal is sent from the cluster to the ECU. I think there is a problem with this connection. My car is the same way, speedometer works, but I can't setup launch control because my ECU sees 0mph all the time. I would look up the wire on the ECU for speed signal input and try and trace it back to the cluster.
