What should I offer for a '92 with 92,000 miles and a spun rod bearing. Owner says the only blemish is on driver's seat.

My plan is to tear down the engine, have crank reground, bore cylinders (if necessary) for turbo pistons, replace bearings, head work, big ass turbo, MSD injectors, custom ECU. How much HP should I be making? What is the next weakest link in the KA besides the pistons?

$1400 is #### cheap for a '92. I don't know what a spun rod bearing is, but unless it costs $3600 to repair, you're well below the value of the car.

I would have to replace the bearings and have the crank reground. Might as well do a full rebuild on it.

Nice price for a 240. I bought a '91 with 70K for $1500.00 with the following problems:
-Rip in the driver's seat
-Digital speedo works for only 5 secs at start-up
-Power locks not working.
So, definitely go for $1400.00. You'll want to do all the engine work after you buy the car anyway. The tranny can handle some 3-400 HP, has excellent gear ratio, and with the big-ass turbo and all the other crap, you should be at about maybe 250-300? (just a guess).

BUY THE CAR!!! <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
