I picked it up on the way home from last time. It was on backorder.

Wiring is done, waiting on timing covers to get finished before the motor goes back together.

Russ - how long did it take you to scour the globe and find those parts for your interior? are they a mix of European and Japanese parts?

Thanks for the pics.

Uk and JDM, and there's more stuff coming. I'm going to do a large writeup on FA once I get everything else wired in.

Mines arrived like 4 days after i bought it. SSautochrome has great customer service and all and shiping is super duper quik. I got the cat back for $235 shipped. welding and quality looked above decent. very well built. hollow hangers, comes with gaskets, even an extra one, bolts bolts and bolts!

So my friend and I installed it into my s13 w/ sr20det in his garage and was soo excited. We thougth it would sound simular like the ones in the clips of this thread but sounded a bit different.

i installed a whole new exhaust system. 3" megan racing downpipe, straight pipe, and ssautochrome cat back. I also had a turbo outlet, but there were complications witht hat which i will will install later on. (everything was fine, but the silencer was shitty.) took us about 2 -3 hours installing everything because we used all hand tools, and didnt even have pb blaster or wd-40! lol. No lifter...just a jack and 4 jack stands.

when we tested it and turned on the virgin catback exhaust...VROOOM!!!!! CRAZY LOUD at cool temp. Now i always wanted the STI sound on my car, but never thought it would be possible with the 240sx, but with my set up, it went swell and Subaru WRX STI it sounded like. it idles like "gurgle-gurgle-gurgle-gurgle-gurgle" adn the more you rev, the faster the "gurgle (of course). When rolling on neutral, catback was completely silent. downshifting isnt so loud. best of all, cruising is just a constand "brrrrrrrbrrrr" sound, not very loud at all, until you downshift and accelerate, or step on it at a sudden, the thing is fucking loud as hell! sounded exactly like an STI or a muscle car. Power gain was drastic. probably over 20 hp's (to the wheels).

Mounting on the car was very stiff and secure. nice direct bolt on with no complications. everything went smoothly.

I wish i had clips for you guys to watch, but me no camera no nothing. well, hope my post could convice that ssautochrome catback isnt a "shit" prduct, but a very impressive one.

Alright fellas here's the link to my the SSAUTOCHROME on my s14.

I love it except for I'm going to need some stiffer exhaust hangers, it rattles at high rpms.

Funny you mention it. A local guy ordered the Uras also and waited 8 months for it, he saw mine and got pissed since it's identical and costs less.

yeah IMO it's awesome b/c its quiet when you want it to be, like on the highway or neutral, but it roars to life when you punch it. best combination ever.

Nismo hangars are how much closer to the body? Worth $50?
And, is SSA stainless steel magnetic? I know boost designs is, with slight surface rust gathering on it, so it's cheap, mutt stainless. The only way I can see these companies making this stuff for much less than I can even buy the raw materials (bends) for is by using mutt stainless.

True, but even so, it's still $230 shipped. That's not much more than your local muffler shop would charge you for a crappy pressbent aluminized steel system and muffler.

It's a replica of the Apex'i N1 Dual, should fit fine.

yeah it fits exactly like the N-1 dual. my friend just bought one, i saw it on his car the other day. i think i may get myself one of these.
its cheaper than a used Apex N-1 dual.

Plus i think i may powdercoat everything (all the piping except the canisters), flat black, for rust protection.

hmmm. i doubt youll have the STI sound if its an n/a KA. but itll still be loud and monstrous. i hear n/a ka with no restictions is supposed to be even LOUDER than turbo.

although i think itll only hav ethat "STI" rumbling sound if you run a straight pipe instead of a catalytic converter. i dunno. mine sounds extremely loud, but i LOVE IT. but you can barely even hear the exhaust if your going like 1500 rpm at 3rd gear, 2300 rpm at 4th gear, and 2500 - 27-2800 rpm at 5th gear. almost completely silent on neutral. but once you punch it (especially in 3rd and 4th) above 4000 rpm...oh man you cant even hear the music or the people talking in the car.

only thing is i always gotta beat around the bush when i sense cops.

All N/A's should be louder then turbos. Turbo motors are quieter since they have a turbine wheel to muffle a large percentage of the noise.
