As was I. I was shocked when Trump became potus but I was like maybe he will actually drain the swamp, fucker is not a politican and is rich.

Like legit, Trump could have been LEGENDARY.

Imagine if he would have come in, decided to bridge the gap with the democrats since he used to be one. Come in with a message to unify America as a whole. Cut useless spending

, legalized and regulate cannabis, take some of the useless money for nature conservation, reinvest into more renwable energy, help out all the super slimey politicians that get kickbaks by targeting them for primaries.

Not stacking the supreme court with conservative judges and instead judges that interpret law without a political bias. He could have committed to NATO while saying USA comes first. Tax money from cannabis alone could help out tons of homelss.

Revamp the prison system to be rehabilatory instead of making people harder criminials. Asking states to raise the standards for their police and instead of using drugs as a reason to fund, fund them for stuff like advanced de-escalation training and training on how to deal with mentally ill.

Just imagine Trump being on twitter like "Senator Amidala has taken $XXXX from this pharm company. She voted no on capping presciption prices, seems corrupt, bad! Primary her out!"

I hate politics.

Lolwut.

That literally is the definition of a "conservative" judge. They are conserving to the utmost minimum interpretation of the written law and constitution.

What ruling has this court made that you feel has been "politically biased"?

You're absolutely right. He could have literally broke the mold on what that position actually is, but after he started dealing with the bullshit, a mystery virus somehow made its way to the public and the world shut down. Funny how shit like that happens. I'm not a tinfoil hat wearer by any means but it's just odd the timing of specific things.

I do think that the Dems tried to bridge some of the gap or at least see if he'll negotiate certain topics and either there is some bad blood or something happened to stop the talks. When that happened, it was fucking chaos because Trump was going for their throats for a while. When he was coming for Hilary with the e-mails publicly and legally, shit hit the fan on a global standpoint and all of a sudden, it went away.

The Supreme Court thing I understand. You have to stack that in your favor because they have a significant amount of power, too. Being a President doesn't mean you can pass whatever the fuck you want. You have to have some legal backing, too. So setting up himself up at that time and taking advantage of the empty slots I'm not mad about. The Dems would have done the same thing so that topic really is a wash for me - but again, I understand the moves.

If you are a politician, you shouldn't be able to take any money from anyone that is part of any political backing. That's double dipping and should be straight punishable by prison time.

I honestly don't get this point of view.

He spends his money influencing people and peddling his own influence. His dad bailed him out of bad business deals. His mentor happened to be the lawyer for a couple of mob bosses and McCarthy's chief counsel for his red scare bullshit (and who was caught by the IRS for being a tax cheat and was disbarred for being an unethical attorney). His demo company of choice was mob-owned. He somehow had his casino license sped up by six months. He somehow was never properly investigated to the NJ gaming commission despite having close associates who were arrested for drug smuggling and embezzlement- something that could get a card dealer investigated, let alone the owner of a casino. He lied constantly about not settling court cases. How many innocent straight-shooters get interviewed by the FBI? How many unemployed women connected to Teamsters get $3mm mortgages for luxury apartments? All of this was known when Trump was running and yet... he couldn't be influenced? C'mon.

New York was the most corrupt state in the Union between 1986 and 2015 based on public corruption cases. That isn't necessarily indicative of actual corruption because other states may not have prosecuted everyone who deserved it. Still, it's a metric from which one can make a relatively informed decision- that everyone who interacted with power brokers in New York were more likely to have utilized some level of corruption to get where they did.

I didn't realize we are so stuck in peoples past that we're too daft to see the possibility of their present and future - and this isn't just limited to the orange man, but anyone and everyone. I literally hate that way of thinking. Being someone who works in investment banking, if I had the close-minded thinking you had, I'd be fucked and so would my clients who are billionaire giants.

Do you honestly think he'll be able to go out with drinks with the boys around town slamming street walkers and doing coke? Probably fucking not, right? Do you think every person who has what they have or are where they are took a path free of shit on their shoes? Is Hillary a better example or Biden... or should we bring up their past? How about JFK or Regan or just about every other fucking President? Don't be a na?ve jackass. Shit, I'm sure you've done some shady shit, too.

But people change. He was willing to switch political parties which for someone with that much money, it's a big fucking deal. You're essentially crossing that center line to go to another persons frat house and hanging out with the enemy - all their secrets in tow. You think that doesn't come with consequences for both sides? I'm kind of going off on a tangent but the fact that you're spewing shit about someone's history and their weird path to get where they are [I'd even argue his 'success' because he sure as fuck has more money than you and I will ever have regardless of how it was obtained].

I don't think anyone sane thought Trump was 'it,' I think we all thought things would have just gone different - someone ignorant enough to break the mold and start a trend to get someone different in that seat moving forward. Unfortunately, he was cucked out of it with all sorts of weird shit. One of these days, we'll threaten impeachment to Presidents who are actually proven to have done something worth that while serving office. I dunno, maybe I'm just ignorant and stupid.

I'm still unclear why he was getting shit on by everyone like he was out there killing people on live television. To gain clarity, I even googled it and read ONLY Dem-owned news articles and the results are pretty hilarious. It's like click bait with no factual evidence. Again, not saying the dude is a saint but some of this shit is actually hilarious the way they try to spin in. Imagine if he deleted a shit ton of e-mails or his kids were out there wielding guns and selling his influence? Crazy. Trust me. I love to see the shittiness in everyone and I love drama but I don't see anything he did and thought 'hey, he is 100% bonified guilty of that and it's WORSE than any other President in recent relevance or someone who is running.'

Again, to be clear. I am no dick rider and don't sit on the right or left side. I think both sides have great ideas - I just wish they weren't so extreme and were willing to listen to each other and compromise. I don't think person A is better than person B because they both probably fucking suck.

Oh lawd, I've triggered the snowflakes.

Responding in order:

Yes, we've been stagnant for decades.

Chief of state literally means the person who embodies a state in its unity and legitimacy.

Whatabout plus straw man plus hasty generalization; false dilemma; correlation/causation

Whatabout plus ad hominem.

Ad hominem plus the video got vaporized.

How about Prigozhin's little uprising?

News of falling rent prices?

Rent will never fall because my mortgage isn't ever going to go down unless I refinance - which I'm not doing. So I'm not sure who the fuck is out there handing money to landlords and people with mortgages to bridge the gap so people can pay less for rent but until that happens, I don't foresee shit dropping. Utilities aren't going down. Items to repair damages aren't going down. Nothing is going down. Don't be stupid.

$38 dollars a month. If we're lucky, we'll see another $30ish a month! Meanwhile, the price of literally everything else on Earth is multiplying. What a great savings. Instead of working 50+ hours a week to make ends meet, you can work 49.50 hours now.

haha 38 bucks drop? its not insignificant, its absolutely NOTHING.

its not ad hominem to call someone in this case, dim witted. why even bother mentioning 38 bucks when you and the rest will be subsidizing the cost of all the people who didnt pay rent during the course of covid which was covered by the state

please, educate yourself. watch ONE episode of california insider from the epoch times. maybe you'll actually learn something. or, you'll continue walking in eternal progressive stupidity thinking that its all a conspiracy.

YUP.... AND you will continue to pay for and subsidize all the other things that dont work, like businesses that will be increasing their costs to cover their ever-rising costs of theft. until law and order is restored, the people are going to continue to pay... and pay dearly

As a landlord, I for one don't know ANYONE dropping any rent. If anything, it keeps going up not only because of the complete disregard people have for other peoples property, but the fact they generally tell you to fuck off the last few months, go to court when they get an eviction letter, and the court gives them four to six months free rent to 'find a new place' - even longer [up to a year] if a child is involved. And you know what happens? They leave at the 11th hour of the last day and make sure the place is covered in shit and the damage is astronomical.

But glad your article says rent is on the downturn! They must be excited landlords! I don't know why but that stupid fucking article pissed me right the fuck off. The fact you even had the nut to post that is even worse.

Or if anything the article is BS in the same way they talk about housing prices "coming down" in Phoenix.

2020 - House was $250k @ 2%
2023 -January same House is $550k sells in 3 days @ 5%
2023 - June, same house sells for $540k in 7 days @ 6.5%

"Market Cooling off!"
"Prices down first time in 5 years!"
"Economic Policies are working!!
"Time to sale has doubled!"

News outlets/politics are all about masking the horrible truth with data that a targeted audience wants to see.

"Market is coming down!"

An intelligent person would think, wow. It's a significant amount where people who are struggling will have easier times making ends meet. Article: 0.5% = $38 and if we're lucky, that number could nearly DOUBLE! Granted I couldn't afford to lower my rent on my units because I'd lose my ass when they decide they're done paying [I don't think I've ever truly made a profit in the 10+ years I've owned rental property] but I would think larger firms who are turning literally everything into apartments would have some mandate to lower the base numbers. Wrong.

TL;DR: Don't post stupid fucking biased misleading articles. Shit is dumb and it makes you look dumb[er].

Deceleration doesn't mean it's declining, it means it's not progressing at a projected rate. And for most states that are reporting any decrease, this month, they've gone back up. So I'm not quite sure what your point in posting that was but go off.

I also don't know why you're posting shit about California. For all I care, the shit could break off and sail away. People have glorified and butt-fucked that state into the ground. Costs to live there are insanely high, people are shitting/pissing/shooting up in the streets, y'all tax out the ass for what? To live in a state closer to some sisters who like to fuck on camera and monetize off of young girls who want to follow in their footsteps? Cool. California is a fucking joke.

P.S. The term is 'news' is subjective. Anyone can report news - doesn't make it logical or relevant.

its a californian thing... you know, being self-centered and talking as if your shit dont stink. its been democrat run for many decades and he's posting links about how their very own policies have failed and continue to fail year after year

only a person from california can denigrate people in "fly over states" by calling them uneducated, irredeemable, deplorable; while they themselves, often highly educated, cant seem to grasp why california is falling apart.

Yeah, California is really 'killing it.' https://ktla.com/news/california/cal...0and%20economy.

Imagine being that dog shit and getting worse yearly. The state is a fucking joke and whoever even put them that high must've been smoking meth. California does have some beautiful landmarks, parks, and other shit, but the people are fucking AWFUL. Don't believe me? Exhibit a: KA24

I post about California because a lot of other posters here are from California, and because I find California water rights and water usage to be interesting. Here we are, a progressive state, using water rights laws from the 19th century and working with federal and state agencies that are actively hurting our waterways to pursue water stability for relatively small groups of people.

As I've said before, Colorado River issues are national issues. If you eat fresh vegetables in winter on the East Coast, you benefit from Colorado River water.

I post about what's going on with California, including its failings, because you cannot get better unless you understand what you're not good at. You cannot fix problems you refuse to acknowledge. I acknowledge that we have some major failings in California and a lot of them are systemic.

theres nothing systemic about choosing to live in a desert. the idiots in positions of power have done nothing positive to address the problems associated with too many people living in an arid region with too little rainfall and antiquated infrastructure for storing water.

80% of your state is fucked. Y'all are building homes at a fast pace and forceclosing at an even faster pace. People will eventually destroy that whole state and no 'learning from our mistakes' mindset will be able to reverse that. Your states smog is so bad that they have to build cars with special regulations - and even shit heads like the people on this forum are trying to find ways to manipulate that.

You cannot have your cake and eat it too. The population, lack of giving a shit, and human stupidity in your state is the problem - three things that will never be remedied. You can keep posting stupid shit about your state and hope things will eventually turn around but a little hint: they won't.

One of the shocking things about going to California from Arizona is the sheer amount of trash and liter everywhere. All along the roadways is debris and garbage. For a State sooo focused on the environment they ban plastic straws, the place is just a disheveled mess.

My wife went to ASU and has family in Tempe. I will admit that I thought by doing a little Google Earth'ing that the place would be a hot shit hole. I was half right - it was hot but surprisingly nice - even near ASU and the surrounding areas. We did a lot of sightseeing and drove all over the state and it was pretty well groomed. The people were nice enough, houses didn't look like complete shit holes, I was surprised. I had a nice experience in AZ. Cali... fuck no.

in all fairness, you cant fault the smog system as CARB predates the EPA. you can however, fault how its gotten increasingly stringent over the years. loopholes always did and continue to exist, although they've made attempts to crack down on people (like me) who exploited the system.

it wasnt always like this. i was going to say it in an earlier post that, while CA (socal in particular) has always been superficial, its gotten increasingly more extreme over the past decade with far-left hipster douchbags... mostly the college educated children of hippies and such. and with them, a rise in homeless, drugs, crime and trash. hence the mass exodus of people who have left the state and watch in awe from afar the continuous flow of abhorrent videos of stupidity coming from CA.

just today one of my friends sent me a link to a man found dead on the 110 freeway.... about 2 months ago another friend sent me a photo of a man hung off the 60 freeway.

all this talk useless talk about stupid politics and gun control and no one stops to process the nonsense being created by modern hollywood. its all violent, meaningless trash... i tuned out ages ago.

So, you're telling me that people who celebrate Pride will only do it one month a year? They aren't interested in being proud the other eleven months?

If yes, then that's pretty hypocritical.
If not, why do we have a 'month' and a 'week' and a 'day' for it? Why not just celebrate it daily?

Weird concept.
