Bringing this back from the dead since I am doing this and need a clutch recommendation.
Setup: Stock s13 blacktop JWT Tuned TM GTX2871r V3 (DBB) 600cc side feed injectors (tuned at 590cc per JWT) Z32 MAF stock fuel pressure with Walbro 255LPH CodyAce manifold with 38mm TiAL v-band Tomei 258 Poncams With this setup, I have a feeling my current clutch will not be able to handle it since it's 10-years old but will test prior to upgrading. I am thinking of the following: ORC Super Single: ORC-409DSB-02N OS Giken Super Single: S14/PS13/RPS13-AC Any other recommendations besides these 2?

Given it looks like you are looking for high quality only without much worry on price, I'd throw in the Nismo Super Coppermix or the Exedy Hyper Single as contenders. I've never used a high level Exedy racing clutch like this before but I've experienced nothing but quality out of their lower-tier "stage" racing clutches. The Coppermix is an awesome unit, I love how they feel. I imagine your 600cc injectors will limit your maximum power/torque to an amount where any of these options won't have a problem holding steadily. |

Since I am introducing more power, I figured, a Super Single clutch. Also I should mention, I plan to go 1000cc and E85 next year and hoping to use the same clutch kit. Last bit might help to see why I went with my setup. I really appreciate the recommendation as I'll definitely look into the Nismo one.

Question for those running a 2871 or any bottom mount standard placement turbo with a 3" hose compressor inlet on an SR. What did people do for their intake pipe routing?
I just installed a GT2860RS with a standard 3" inlet, which should be no different than a 2871 in terms of placement. I have standard braided SS w/ AN fittings coolant lines, with the S14 upper water neck that has the coolant return fitting. This line to the water neck (straight fitting), plus the dipstick tube make it very tight in that area to run an intake tube up from the turbo. Pic of what I'm working with. Sorry it's grainy. Wastegate vac lines are temporarily routed just for a quick startup. |

I imagine having something custom made is probably ideal. Unsure what the fitting on your water line by the dipstick is like, but the dipsticks are very pliable for bending (Mine has been bent for 3 different set ups) so maybe you can bend the dipstick out of the way and clock the fitting differently for better room.

I am planning something custom with couplers and bent aluminum piping, but I am more so asking what sizes, bends, etc people have used successfully. My water lines are an off the shelf product made for bottom mount SR, and I would like to believe this very common turbo setup doesn't require everyone to modify their dipstick tube. There's about 3" from the snout of the turbo to where it starts getting congested coming forward. I think my best bet is a 90 right off the turbo, clocked diagonally up toward the drivers side, then 45'd toward the driver side headlight. Still will be tight and wondering if there are better options. |

I just installed a gt2871r .64 with 740cc injectors, z32 MAF, and enthalpy tune. Stock block, stock cams, & HG. What's a safe boost level I should be able to run? At what point will I need to swap HG and studs in?

boost pressure has nothing to do with lifting a head
compression is 1000psi boost is 15 or 30 or 45psi negligible the cylinder pressure peak and pressure integral is 'controlled' via chemical reaction of combustion and rate of piston position and other factors as timing point. The short answer is: No, a properly tuned sr20det will not 'lift the head' at any PSI of boost pressure using OEM head bolts and OEM head gasket, up to approx 500bhp in my experience (the limit of OEM rods/pistons give or take) You DESIRE the original head bolts and head gasket because they act as a fuse which protects the OEM bottom end components. In other words why would you install a head gasket that is stronger than the piston materials? |

i have a redtop running cheap rev9 journal bearing 2871r .64/enthalpy ecu/z32 maf/550cc/walbro fp/sard fpr/3 inch catback
/r8 coils/fmic and stock everything else does 15psi seem about right for 300whp or will i need more boost from these chinachargers you think? |

I just dyno'ed on my 3" compressor housing garret Gt2871R .86 with stage3 HKS cams on 91 pump gas @15psi..... 255 and 217 torque..... less than I expected..... on 15 psi....
but could be conservative timing.... had my link lambda sensor stop reporting probably due to dirty voltage. Just fixed that and added a wideband knock sensor.... Going back in a few weeks.... Hopefully things will be different

Nah, I am on IDX 1050x.....
I wonder if he didn't work on timing or the dyno numbers run low.... I did reduce the overlap in both cams.... maybe more dyno time needed which is coming soon

What everyone said. I made 320 on an s15 turbo on a fully built sr20 running 93 and 550cc injectors at 17 psi. I would expect that turbo to make more than that.
