so yeah, i noticed today that my set of stock wheels and tires got stolen out of my garage. i'm not too sure how recently this occured. but everyone just be on the lookout for somebody on e-bay or anything trying to sell a set of stock wheels off a 98 se and General XP tires. i don't expect to get them back, it's just on the off chance.

did they just take the wheels or did they take some other stuff too?? maybe you just misplaced them...
go around and look on a few miatas. who knows, maybe you were just dreaming and thinking "hey, i wonder what '98 se wheels would look like on my spec miata?"

hope u find em!

Hey Tnord, this is S15dude but I'm at onebadm5's house, I saw a set of S14 SE wheels on ebay a week ago. I'll try and find the link to the auction and post it. Sorry to hear that dude, it sucks when people think that they can just take any thing that doesn't belong to them.

I looked on ebay but the tires didn't match up and neither did the location.

thanks for the effort M5, i really do appreciate it.

but i do have good news. since the wheels were in the garage and not on the car the claim would fall under homeowners insurance. since my dad owns the house i live in i called him to ask about the deductable. turns out that worse case scenario the deductable would be $500, but he thinks it's $250 for cars, and that the deductable might not apply for theft. that means that i would get a check for the full value of new OEM se wheels, plus tires. of which i hear can cost from 450-600 bucks per wheel. i'll probably ask for 100 a corner for tires. that means i could get up to $2800 for this "unfortunate incident." so yeah, whoever stole my wheels, joke's on you buddy. can you say CHA-CHING. oh man, what to do with a free 3 grand. sways, intake, and stock market here i come. (can anybody say turbo?) oh man i hope this works out, i'll be so happy.

heheh... this coming from the person crying about the possibility of voiding his warranty..... money changes EVERYTHING doesn't it!?!?!?

So, wow.... really hope it works out for you. Otherwise you'll be dissapointed twice, which would suck.

And if you turbo'ed the 240, that pretty much kisses the miata goodbye for now??

The same happened to me when someone stole my '86 Subaru GL10(go figure) The car was busted to shit but I had full coverage and low deductable so I got like $1000 out of the whole deal.

Take advantage of it no reason to look free money in the mouth

are you talking about wheel locks as in those special lugnuts??

his wheels were stolen from his garage.... while they were off the car. At most he could have run a wire lock through the rims, but that's like cheese to a bolt-cutter....

the same key works for all of those wheel locks. they really don't do much good.

upon further evaluation, saving the money to use for the spec miata is probably the best idea. then i might be able to keep the 240. that or i'll just pay off a HUGE chunk of the loan. from a strictly financial standpoint, that makes the most sense.

uhh al u need is snap ons 1/2 inch 18v rechargeable battery impact driver that has 180 plus ft/lbs of torque.
and the lock extractors from them or matco and viola you can easily "steel" any wheels.

not that ive done it though, but we got those at work and the thought passed my mind.

hope everything works out for u travis

yup... no one's gonna look twice at some guy going at it with an impact wrench....

seriously, just use a high power drill and reverse tap and thread the top of the wheel lock it would probably be quieter than "CHG CHG CHG CHG CHG CHG CHG CHG CHG".
or just blowtorch the whole multilink off....

heheh.... obviously not that one would... but one could....
