With the car at rest, supporting/loaded sheet metal would be from the center of shock tower line backward, in addition the rectangular box section from the crossmember mounting holes backward. The magic happens there. |

Yes of course. I'm doing that now. Just be careful not to go too hot when joining the oem metal with your new piece, I burned through a few times and it was annoying as fuck.

Here's mine. I just got done sanding to bare metal and self etching the whole bay. Just waiting on sandable primer, paint and clear.
The main reason I did tubs is because I wrecked into some idiot without brake lights a while back. You can see where I welded the new inner-fender at, on the passengers side right before the strut tower to the radiator support near the headlight. |

Did you stitch weld em or did you just draw a straight bead? Prolly why you were burning through. I assume tig welding it will surely burn through everything?

Tubs are non structural correct? Why not make bolt in fiberglass ones? Anything aside from durability? Ive got some decent fiber experience and could makr a drop in piece no welding or enginepulling required and could easily be removed

just finished this for a customer. I didn't want to redo the entire front floor section since his was realistically pretty clean so I stepped a piece of 18 ga. with my bead roller and conformed it in there. It will later just be smoothed and painted most likely

Yeah no TIG yet, very soon though! This was all done with a 110 buzzbox, hence the nastier areas where I kept hitting seam sealer and the works (no matter how hard I cleaned) Thanks!
