I have a
1989 (88) 240sx Coupe
Manufacture date - 10/88 #6936 to be exact.
XE- power everything
HUD -yes
wing - no
vin says it was a cali emissions car, but somehow it made it's way to va lol.
171,XXX miles
Auto Trans
i'm pretty sure it has some form of a lsd, I read that they were an option for the Q's. i'll look for the orange sticker later.
oh yeah PAINT -Two Tone Silver Green Pearl/Dark Gray Metallic..
code 5G7 .. 1 of 2286 idk which one tho, would be nice to find out.
(anybody have a vin checker or something? I'm curious about her history)

I would love to find out more about her..she was recently given to me by a family member and i'm rebuilding the engine now, 5 speed swap next, maybe kat, already have most of the parts, might swap in a vq35hr if cant get around the starter lol

thanks, I fell in love with the color the first time I saw it, even before I knew It was rare. i'm getting ready to start feeding her money and elbow grease to restore her now..I have the vin/model number decoder already. what did you mean by which car it is? the last 6 digits of the VIN? in that case she's #006936 of 68118.

I know this is kinda randomish, but these rims are on my 1985 Maxima GXE, and I wanna put them on the 240 after I clean then and repaint them. the center caps say enkei.. I think they might be 92s or something.

anybody know for sure?

Yep. The last six digits.

I'm pretty sure those are 92s on the Maxima.

ikr..that's the look i'm going for with those enkei 92s after I repaint/polish them.. she'll end up looking something like this, I gotta have some ground clearance where I live or else i'd be picking up pieces of bumper everyday.

I forget who's car that is tho..

Well 92s came out before this whole big wheel phase, they're more of a classic wheel for a different look..but i'm sure they have replicas in larger sizes tho.

That would be disgusting. They're little wheels, and look good that way.

15 is a great size, and looks fine on our cars. You don't need SUV wheels.

There are 16" 92s. I don't know if they make them currently, but they're out there.

Q's? It's a 240SX, not a Silvia.
If it's stock, it has an open diff.

I had read something on another forum where sum guy was talking about they still used the J's Q's and K's in American cars without using the names, but instead j's were base, q's were xe's and k's were the se's..like a trim equivalent or something.. but I took that with a grain of salt because I couldn't think of a stock 240sx equivalent for a turbo k's silvia lol.. and when it comes to my car she was stock when I got her(to my knowledge). but when I jacked it up and spun the wheels with resistance on the other side it locked, in both directions, and it hops around corners, but no sticker, but the bolts look like they haven't been tampered with so I doubt it's welded.. soo much confusion

Does it act, sound, and perform like a welded diff?

the only thing I noticed was the ease of sliding aside from the strained turning radius as it was mainly driven on dirt or paths because it wasn't registered.

On another note i'm going ahead with a de 5spd swap and need to do something with this terrible clear coat in the meanwhile. i haven't heard of any reputable places near me to paint it.. something has to be in the meantime to prevent rust spots from spreading but i'd hate to pain her another color..guess i'll wait and get the money

Never thought i'd see another two tone with gold SA3R's. Kind of miss running them sometimes.

What diameter and widths are those?
