spooled240- I got a good ka bottom end with 46k on it... I could rebuild a cylinder head then toss on a metal headgasket, arp studs and that should be good to go for your setup as long as it's properly tuned... I got a new full timing chain set for it too I just picked up. I was gonna assemble it this week for a turbo ka setup but I just picked up a bmw I want to build instead... I could possibly have a motor together for you pretty quickly... A ka trans should be easy to pick up or I do have some friends that work over at A-Tech and build trannies... I could get one of them to do a rebuild on the side...

how much would you want for it?. A few ppl on nico were telling me that stock internals would be fine for my 300rwhp goal(stock rods, stock pistons I doubt they will break anyway). I'm gonna go ahead and probably do a cheapo rebuild on my ka with new rings and gaskets but i'll def keep your ka in mind.

Yeah I wouldn't try pushing over 300hp but I mean thats still alot of power for a street car. It really boils down to good tuning at that point.
You have to figure out why the motor has low compression in that cylinder... You have to worry about damage to pistons and scoring of the cylinder walls... It's not always as easy as slapping in new rings if you want to do it right. I'll have to think about how much it's gonna cost me to get the whole motor together... I'm thinking some where around a grand? I figure like $300+ to have the head rebuild and the valves adjusted... Prolly like $250 for a metal headgasket & arp studs. Then I need misc gaskets, valve stem seals, full timing chain kit with new sprockets/guides/tensioners/chains etc... New front main seal plus assembly of everything and a block with 46k on it which you can see the car it came from and carfax it to verify... I'd say around a grand would be more than fair... |

the motor began pinging on the 4th cylinder at 12psi but it runs fine at lower boost, I dunno why. Maybe i have a dirty injector?
but hopefully the cylinder walls are messed up and I can just get in there with a flex hone and re-ring it. |

that pick a part on santa fe had some clean hatches in there when they first opened up: dual cam, m/t, complete, no dents/rust with the pignose lip...was a shame.
i thought the super target idea was good location but we never got it going. My car is gonna be down for a good while since I'm pulling the motor and trans out for a rebuild. |
