For future events, if you're not absolutely sure that you'll be able to afford to go, DON'T SAY YOU'LL BE GOING! This is ridiculous.

I hope those of you backing out can split the cost for someone else to go (not me), since you had AGREED to go and backing out is making it harder for everyone else to get the $170 price. There ought to be some kind of penalty for backing out, especially when we only have two weeks until the deadline. But since we never made this a rule, I hope you guys would do it voluntarily.

things do come at the wrong moment you know. I can't control them, either can anyone else control them. I couldn't help mine, i got the money and all, but since my plans have changed from going to SJSU faster than i can't afford to break my car cause the college i go to is pretty far and thats were the classes i need are at. If i wasn't going to SJSU this coming fall Semester than i'll go because the classes i need are like 2 blocks away from my house at our little college. I know it is wrong for already 2 guys quiting on you, but as i remind what Bill said the cost still goes for people if you don't get 25 or whatever it is.

Not to argue or anything, but I don't want people having the wrong information.

SpeedTrialUSA dropped the required number of participants from 25 to 15. We need to get about 5 more people in two weeks, unless Tommy is nice enough to let us have the $170 price with whatever number of people we can get.

In any case we need to try to have at least 15 people to make sure that SpeedTrialUSA will continue to give us group rates in the future.

Hey, don't be hating on people (like me) because things didn't turn out the way they wanted. Trust me, I would like nothing more than to have a chance to participate on the 28th, but as you would see if you read back a couple of pages, my participation was based on the fact that we could rent helmets at the track. I am just glad that I had the foresight to confirm this with Sears Point before paying my $170, and then not being able to run. Also, I am going to keep trying, I don't know where I am going to get an extra $300, but I sure will try for it. hell, maybe I can convince my parents to buy me a helmet for Christmas, but then I wouldn't know for sure if I would be getting it until an few days before the event, and that is a little late. Anyway, sometimes things just don't work out like you want them to, this is one of those occasions for me.


PS: If anyone knows where I can get an extra $300 or a helmet to borrow...PLEASE tell me!

If they rent helmets, I'll go and I know of 2 others who will go if rented helmets are available. I know of 2 others who may go, but not definate...

It all depends on the helmet issue. BTW, does anybody know of any shops that rent out helmets?

hopefully in the future we can count on a bigger turnout for things like this, but i had alot of fun on the drive up there, thanks to danio for leading us thru the "scenic route" heheh, it was a nice drive. &nbsp;well i got me some gloves and a headsock, so thats cool, i made it home in time to get to my cousins football game, he was playing for the SJAA championship, but unfortunately they lost pretty bad, it was like 64-6. &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':blush:'> &nbsp; they were pretty much outclassed, but hey they still got a playoff spot so we'll see what happens. &nbsp;yeah bill u better get that shit checked out with tommy, im probably gona sign up for the event sometime this week, i'll let you know. &nbsp;thanks to anthony, steven (from 240SXForums, i dunno if you're reading this), pat, daniel, bill, and Max_Misawa lol for showin up! &nbsp;still lookin forward to our track day.

I know you guys probably don't condone street racing, but I went last night and it was pretty sick. even with the fog a lot of people went. a skyline was even there. and there was a stripped down crx on slicks with a supercharged B20, it only ran two times, against a stealth tt (friend of mine, got smoked! ) and an S2000 (got smoked too! ) the skyline and the crx were supposed to go at it but the crx needed some water to warm up the slicks. great night overall, two red s2000's went at it, stock vs mod (intake/exhaust) and the stock one won. a sportbike went up against the skyline and won, but not by much.

I took a shot at it and ran my friend's stealth tt, WITH MY HELMET ON!! HAHAHA everyone was like "holy shit what's he got under there!"" HAHAH!! the stealth even gave me a head start and I still lost, of course, all I have is intake/exhaust. I should've took a video, hell of a night.

and Mike, on the speedtrial site it said deadline was dec. 26, maybe they are expecting more than 25 peeps and they're giving us (Norcal 240sx) the group rate and they'll fill in the rest, I guess, and our deadline is this month. I don't know, call em Bill! and where's Max from?

well, since the helmet did cost regular price, and there might be a price change on track registration, I'm starting to think twice about this whole thing. I don't think it's worth it anymore. I mean I can afford it, but I can do so much other stuff with ~$500. And even if I did go to the track, I might have to get new tires, and even 4 Kumho's will cost ~$300, that's $800!! sorry Mike and Bill, it's just that I don't want to go wasting any more money, I want to pay off my credit cards, and I still owe money on my car (I got JACKED, I still owe $14k), and with Xmas coming too. If the helmet were lower price I'd probably feel different, more confident. Once I graduate in Feb tho I'm going all out, I'm gonna hit places like Buttonwillow and Laguna Seca! But not for now, I still have a lot to learn. I will be returning the helmet. Or, if anyone is willing to go to the track and needs a helmet, I will sell it at a reasonable price. Size is large. Well Im still in if anyone cares. Just out of curiousity though, is anyone going for BOTH days? Did you say it was your fuel pump? Have you checked to see if there is power feeding to it, and if so maybe its the unit itself? Blown fuse maybe? Could be lots of things. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Well, first it was the fuel pump. &nbsp;I forgot to swap some of the wires. &nbsp;Then I couldn't get any spark. &nbsp;That was simply a loose wire. &nbsp;It fires now, I can hear it, but won't turn over. &nbsp;I also hear a taping noise so I think I may be a tooth off on my Intake cam. &nbsp;Everything else works fine.lol &nbsp;Good Idea though.

If you look in SpeedTrialUSA's web site, you'll see that early registration is $175. In other words, if we don't get 15 people, we're only paying $5 more at most, as long as we register before December 27. Since it's only going to be a $5 discount, I don't think anyone would really care about getting 15 people anymore, unless Tommy can give us a better rate than $170. In fact if the discounted price is only $5 less than the early registration price, I don't think even Tommy would care if we get 15 people or not.
