So ive picked up a set of Super Advan Generation 2s that are 17x8.5 +30 and 17x9.5 +38.
![]() question 1: ive never run wider wheels with higher offsets (without running 25mm spacers). im thinking the rears will clear the coils, but the fronts im pretty sure are going to wind up rubbing the springs. anyone have experience with these sizes/offsets? im currently running Fortune Auto V4 coils that have the eccentric adapters on the top holes of the brackets. question 2: im not going for the hella flush look, but if i do add spacers, i would like to push the wheels out just a bit so they sit flush with the fenders (not super low). im thinking 15mm bolt on spacers, i want to keep a good amount of tire on these with minimum stretch. any input on good tire sizes to run. i was planning on 225/40R17 upfront and 245/40/R17 out back. my rear fenders are rolled and not pulled. front fenders are untouched. please no flaming, im new to the proper fitting tire world and i need to get the tires ordered next week as the wheels are showing late next week i believe. any positive input would be appreciated ![]() |

You can usually fit 9 +25 on the front, which has pretty much the same inner clearance. http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator
245s all around is no sweat with some camber. |

attempting to fit BFG R1S 275/35/18 (wide for the listed width) for this weekend on my time trial s14. rim is NT03 18x9.5+27.
front with 10mm spacer. very slight rub on spring, probably need a 12-15mm spacer. front fender is rolled but not pulled. going to need to pull it to clear. havent worked on it yet ![]() rear no spacer, shock disconnected at the lower mount to simulate maximum travel. ignore the rubber marks, those wipe away. very slight rub on the fender after doing some pulling with the eastwood roller. plenty of room to go on the inside, but the wheels i got are too low offset. probably need another 3mm of fender pull: ![]() original sized pics here: http://i.imgur.com/XRQFhHO.jpg and here: http://i.imgur.com/RIRzil2.jpg |

17x8.5 +38 Front 245/40/17 Added a 30mm spacer (effective +8) 17x9.5 +40 Rear 255/40/17 Added a 20mm spacer (effective +20) Wheels sat perfect in my opinion. Front fenders are rolled flat and the rears have a slight pull. Front camber at -3.2, rear camber at -1.2 ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Chassis: S14 Wheels: 17x9.5 RPF1 + 38. Fronts rubbed and needed a spacer and camber, which was a paltry 1.2 at the time when this picture was taken. Rear clears by a country mile! Tires: 275-40-17 NT05 |

Damn that thing is low for those meats Ralliart. I'm assuming you have a 245/255 up front? What are your alignment specs in the rear?

for a 9.5, more like 265-275.... I also have an s14, so I can't help give you a definitive answer on the fitment, but be ready to do a slight pull... probably about 5-10mm.

275-40 on BOTH ends in that picture. Front fenders are rolled with very "paltry" camber on front and rear. Now, remember, some tires run wide and some run narrow. The NT05 run a bit narrow. Comparing my 265-40 Direzzas ZII Star Spec to the 275-40 Nitto NT05, the section width nod goes to the Star Specs although by definition, they should be 10mms NARROWER. I think this went a long way in getting 275s to fit on the front of a S14 chassis without minimal modifications. |

I personally would go with a 245/255 and roll the fenders all around. You'll need a spacer up front. |

Currently running 18x9.5 +12 235/40 in the rear of my coupe.
The same wheel is offered in 10.5 +22, Considering these will only poke 2mm more...Im contemplating pulling the trigger and going with a 255/35. Anybody have a similar set up? |

that doesn't constitute as max tire for your wheels. stretching tires is not max rubber. |

I'm running an 11" with a 285... yes, it's "slightly" stretched. But I'm running a 285 on a fairly low, stock sheet metal S13. If that doesn't count for maximum tire, then I don't know what does. You can argue it either way, I just choose this way ![]() |
