If the objective is to SCRAPE the wall and these dumb shits WRECK their car. That's not SCRAPING... AKA DOING IT WRONG Doing it wrong is doing it wrong. There's no consolation prize for TRYING. You either wrecked your car into a piece of shit or you didn't.

"You're doing it wrong" Pt. 2 - Because turrible ideas never die
Quote:
No. Scraping the wall is not "grass roots". It's showing off that you have ma- tyte JDM car control and balls of steel. The problem is to many kids rocking rusted out drift missiles see it as a badge of honor or a rite of passage. To many people having no business getting near the wall do it because others are egging them on "pussy, you got 3 feet between you an the wall, your good". Spectators don't care because they want to see a crash. Missile owners don't care because they have no pride or love for their own car, so they certainly don't have any for yours. An the deal is you don't even want to "scrape" the wall. It's about having so much control you can come within a credit cards thickness all day long and never actually harm your car or the wall. It's about car control, not a "no fucks given" mentality. |

Its always the try hard's who you've never seen before the current season fucking up their cars super bad. It's part of the endless one year cycle that is fanboy drifting. 1. Nub dumps all money into shitbox from CL 2. Nub totals shitbox 3. Nub trys to hock it on CL as "Dryft Ready Bro" for more then he bought it for because all his money is now in this totaled POS. 4. Nub dumps all money into shitbox from CL etc. etc. etc. until the car is in 4 pieces at a wrecker. Most of the old guys are over that shit, which is ironic because they are the ones with the skill to drag bumper and not blow out their car from the doors back. Post pics. (relevant) Lol:

You may as well post every single professional driver that has crashed in this fucken thread then, because apparently if you drive on a race track but actually push it and then crash, you are 'doing it wrong'.. I stand by my previous comment, no person that drives on a race track would ever give shit to someone else that drives on a track when they crashed because A) at least they are out there giving it a go and B) Everyone that has driven on a race track has overcooked it and crashed at some stage.. You dicks I imagine sit around at the service station with your flat brims and your hella flush wheels and pretend like you are gods gift to driving, when in actual fact that measly 150hp at the wheels your terrible cars have is enough to clench your butthole.. Grow up.. |

I have a video option from like 1989 or something that clearly shows them 'running the wall' trying to knock an old can of a wall with their wing.. Thats 26 years old, way before drifting was outside of Japan.. That is the definition of grassroots man..

I cannot believe that harris is making an argument out of this. It's a simple point really. These guys are not talking about the pros. They are talking about the jackoffs that hop in their car right after they buy and try to wall ride. Thats just idiotic. A lot of practice is needed before even attempting getting close to a wall.
Professional or not. There is nothing cool about destroying your car. |

LOL Harris finally discovers that doing it wrong is, in fact, doing it wrong.

The setup is doing it wrong because these are drag tires and that's a HORRIBLE drag setup. But if that was on a bloodmasters dvd, it'd be wicked trick brah. WE-KED-TRIK

I never realized a kid smashing a broken POS into a barrier is "real" driving on a real "track" in what I can only assume is a real track car that passes a real tech inspection. Thanks internet.

at what point do you count it though? Are you saying that people shouldn't try and drift because if they do crash then they are 'doing it wrong'? Practice makes perfect right?

Come on man, you know full well what we are talking about here.. "Doing it wrong' is not referencing someone misjudging their entry speed and you know it.. Let's not try and pretend like you are amending the definition so I look like an idiot..

It's at the point where 'doing it wrong' now appears to be crashing your car on a race track, because you arent 'skilled' enough or whatever.. Anyone that regularly drives on a track would never tease these people because it literally happens to every single one of us.. |

Do you honestly not see the problem here? We don't know who is driving that car, how often he drives that car, and whether he had been carving the track for 4 hours before that and just happened to fuck that corner up.. |

Messing up your car should be doing it wrong regardless of situation. I think the point of this thread was to make fun of the aint care swaggots(i didn't invent this term some one else on this thread did and its awesome) out there who treat these cars as missiles.
so yes f#@$ing up ur car is doing it wrong |

You have to wreck your car in context to be doing it right.
Like when you are trying to get really close to the wall to touch tips with your bros but then you accidentally go to third base after the event. |

So is 'doing it wrong' crashing now? Like, we don't know whether this guy was some joker who was trying to show off on his first time drifting, or whether he was a professional that had done the wall 400 times earlier that day, and just happened to get it wrong in this one instance.. Is crashing doing it wrong? |

Crash is doing it wrong because you crashed. But crashing isn't "Doing it Wrong." Crashing is a part of motorsports. You have to crash to learn how not to crash when pushing you and your car to the limits. Unless you just bought a car and went out and smashed it. Then that it doing it wrong, both types.
