Looks like spacer will work for the clearence? I'll try to put on some 15mm so see if it'll solve the problem. Other wise, I'll make an offset bushing for the tension rod.
Sasha stop making those headers and $2200 is way over my budget..lol I'll probably spend 7-800 on burns merge collector and make a new header and Y pipe. But the modify stock one and SS y pipe work for now. |

most carbon parts like he's buying are mostly for looks and weigh just as much as the FRP counterparts. Most carbon shit available for you to buy is made for aesthetics rather than performance just like hoods from vis, dmax, etc, etc.

Typically your "cheap" carbon fiber parts are just fiberglass parts with carbon laid over to look cool. A Seibon CF hood for the Evo weights more than the stock aluminum one. Race quality CF is typically 10x as expensive, and teams almost always paint there parts. |

real race carbon shit is usually cardboard honeycombed in the middle to help it hold its shape and then has thinner pieces of carbon on both sides, same with race frp shit
first time you hit something it explodes to shit though |

This is not a real race car so there is no point going dry CF to save the extra 30Ib.
So..there you go..no painted CF. For those who think all the off the shelf CF parts are for weight save, you are a noob. |

All you dildos crying about your dislike of carbonfiber totally cockteased me on this thread. I thought there was some new info or pics, but it is just a bunch of guys posting about how they do not like carbon fiber. If you don like it, get an r32 gtr and get real cf and paint it or do it however. By the way, what new car did you get?

Hey you ^
I'll be nice and just say it's better and more rewarding to search these questions yourself instead of trying to get it handed to you. Besides this is another mans build thread. If you really want to get random shit handed to you, ya might have some luck in the small questions thread. |

that 2200 exhuast sounds amazing, but it better for the price of a car.
And I like how you dont do anything fancy. Just driven gtrs. I know, it is not fancy for canada. |

good to see its coming along. im not doing a vq35hr awd conversion anymore. i got the awd hr from sams riverside shipped over to oz. (customs raped me)
after measuring up the front diff on the hr i would have to move the engine 3" foward to get the axles on the same plain as the rb. wich would negate the whole point of the conversion for light weight and more power. (s400sx3) so i will be doing what you are doing ![]() is there any particular reason why you ditched the gtr x member? |

Amazing thread.. Read it from start to finish...
I enjoyed the people throwing in their "you should've done" and "better to it this way" IN YOUR BUILD THREAD. It's free laughable entertainment! I LOVE IT! Way to go on your build. I bet it's been a long and painful process of buying, fitting, re-fitting, and small setbacks. In the end, it definitely will be worth it.. If all else fails... Just post a pic of the brakes again. It seems to have made a huge impact in this thread lol 10 of 10 for the build! |

Rob, give me a shout, there is a drift even on sept 5 on the island, see if you can make it!
Thanks guy. I just start working on the car today again and ran into problems AGAIN.. So the headers were modify to clear the steering shaft and we were going to weld it up. Sounds easy enough, so we test fit again and realize once we weld it, we'll pretty much block one of the tubes. Since it is a double layer OEM cast iron manifold, there is not much we can do. I am looking to get a cheapy ebay SS one to modify it instead. Beside that, i never solve the rubbing issue on the tension rod. Since PBM came out with the new front and rear lca, I'll give them a try. ![]() ![]() Looks like it'll solve the rubbing issue but we'll see. Then, I spend some time on my other GTR. ![]() ![]() I'll probably go with different sideskirt and front bumper. And in need of some 25mm spacer. 18x11 +23 don't fit well on gtr. |
