1500 grit then 2000 grit then I dried them and used 2 coats of just a regular clear coat.
It's works real nicely, I'm sure if I would have spent more time I could have gotten even more oxidation off but it looks pretty good to me so far. |

For full headlights, sand around 4-500 rpm or by hand with the following:
1200 1500 1800 2000 By now your headlights should be pretty murky looking. You can start at a higher grit if the oxidation isn't too bad. The worse it is, the lower grit you'll need. After this, hit it with a 3000 to really smooth it out. Clear coat over and done. Should look brand new unless you messed up. |

Step 1: Know what the real value of your car was/is. If your interior was in good shape, dash no cracks, no tears rips or cigarette burns, and exterior was solid, your car is a $4500 car+ 3000 in related upgraded parts for a total of $7,500 Step 2: IF you are going to rebuild it, take it to a shop who does this, and get their estimate IF YOUR STATE IS NOT A PERCENTAGE BASED total loss state Step 3: Know the value of your injuries. Make sure you go to the Dr and get a total work up on your injuries. Let YOUR insurance company know your injuries, and file a CLAIM AGAINST the other company(Lady's insurance) She is at total fault because driving and drinking. Step 4: Compile a total amount of the car and medical claim by sitting down with your insurance to get the amount for each injury, AND total LOSS OF WORK HOURS/PAY Step 5: File this ^^^ amount through your insurance company against her insurance company. The insurance companies do this FREE OF CHARGE FOR YOU. They know what your injuries are worth BASED on past history of payouts for 'kind'. A Lawyer will only suck up money that you should get, as I said, to the tune of 30% - 45% As your payout will be less than $75,000(figure around $2500 per 'hurt part', plus value of damage on car for repairs. That rear lift on the subframe, that pulls down in a frame rack, the body panels are either sourced new or used and it looks like about a $4500 - $5000 job, and another $1000 for paint match

For those of you with the white face(SE) clusters, is there any way to keep the lights behind the face from(for lack of a better description) "Bleeding" through? The black dials with leds look great, but look horribly cheap on the white faces.

For my headlights, I went from 800 grit to 1000, to 1500, 2000 and 3000 in the end Havent cleared them yet but plan too eventually. Mine were pretty badly yellow. People thought I had them tinted that way haha I didnt though. Once i put the lens back on ill try and snap a comparison photo. Only took the lenses off to remove black surrounding paint from previous owner.

I appreciate the tip. I dont know much about painting supplies. Was just told to use some automotive clear coat from the vatozone or somewhere similar.
